Publication number: 20120238928Abstract: A corrective device to be worn on a human foot having a misalignment and positioned inside of footwear. The device including an inner shell having a first rigidity, and shaped to accommodate receiving therein and supportingly couple with the foot, and an outer shell having a second rigidity, the outer shell shaped to accommodate receiving therein the inner shell, supportingly couple with the inner shell and allow positioning into the footwear. The inner shell including an anterior portion and the outer shell including an anterior portion, with the anterior portion of the inner shell extending forward of the anterior portion of the outer shell and terminating rearward of a pivot region where the human pivots when walking or running and at or forward of a location where the metatarsal heads of the foot of the human approximately end.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 16, 2011Publication date: September 20, 2012Applicant: Cascade Dafo, IncInventor: Donald R. Publication number: 20120144968Abstract: A clamping device and associated method for clamping a foam carving block for use by a carving system to produce a positive mold during the manufacturing of orthotic and prosthetic devices. The clamping device includes first and second elongated clamping jaws that are selectively movable between an opened position and a closed position, wherein the clamping jaws clamp the foam carving block therebetween when in the closed position. The clamping device is further operative to automatically center the foam carving block when the foam carving block is clamped. The clamping device also includes a mechanism for automatically generating indexing holes in the foam carving block for use in subsequent manufacturing processes for the orthotic or prosthetic devices.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 9, 2010Publication date: June 14, 2012Applicant: Cascade Dafo, IncInventors: Peter K. Patent number: 7618387Abstract: A corrective device to be worn on a human foot having a misalignment and positioned inside of footwear. The device having an inner shell having a first material composition and flexibility, and shaped to accommodate receiving therein and supportingly couple with the foot, and an outer shell having a second material composition and flexibility, the second material composition and flexibility being substantially the same as the first flexibility, the outer shell shaped to accommodate receiving therein the inner shell, supportingly couple with the inner shell and allow positioning into the footwear. At least a sufficient portion of a pressure is distributed by the outer shell and the inner shell over a desired area of the foot to provide an amount of correction to the misalignment while allowing the human to wear the inner shell inside of the outer shell inside of the footwear.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2006Date of Patent: November 17, 2009Assignee: Cascade DAFO, Inc.Inventor: Donald R.
