Publication number: 20250305571Abstract: A method of exchanging a rack of a rack and pinion drive arrangement, and associated jig assembly, are disclosed. The method includes providing a rack and pinion drive arrangement, with a first rack installed in meshing engagement with the pinions of the gearbox; providing a jig assembly comprising a second toothed rack and a coupling arrangement; arranging the second rack in longitudinal coaxial alignment with the first rack; connecting a first end of the second rack to a proximal end of the first rack, via the coupling arrangement; bringing the second rack into meshing engagement with the pinions of the gearbox by linear displacement of the first and second rack, disconnecting the first rack from the second rack. The nominal rotational position between the respective pinions and primary gears may be calibrated either when the first or the second rack is in meshing engagement with the pinions of the gearbox.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 3, 2023Publication date: October 2, 2025Applicant: CASCADE DRIVES ABInventors: Kym SCHAUBE, Rasmus NORD, Erik EJDEPALM, Pontus KARLSSON

Patent number: 11746876Abstract: The invention relates generally to compound planet gear arrangements for transmitting torque between two rotating shafts, by splitting the torque into several torque transmitting gear components. The gear arrangements may contain gear shifts arrangement and free-wheel arrangements. The invention also relates to gear wheel arrangements having enhanced torsional compliance capabilities, which gear wheel arrangements advantageously may be used in said compound planet gear arrangements and also at other applications such as at other over-determined systems or where intermittent loads and forces occur. According to one aspect, the invention relates to a gear wheel arrangement (700, 800, 900), comprising; a first part (710, 810, 910) which is arranged to be rotationally fixed to a shaft; a second part (720, 820, 920) which is rotatably connected to the first part and provided with gear teeth for meshing with an adjacent gear.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2018Date of Patent: September 5, 2023Assignee: CASCADE DRIVES ABInventor: Stig Lundbäck

Patent number: 10724614Abstract: A gear arrangement for transforming a linear force and/or motion into a rotational torque and/or motion and vice versa. The arrangement comprises; a rack (10, 110, 210, 510, 1010, 2010, 3010, 4010) exhibiting a longitudinal axis (A) and at least one toothed side extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the rack, the rack being reciprocally movable along its longitudinal axis. At least two pinions (20, 120, 220, 520, 1020, 2020, 3020, 4020, 5020) are arranged such that each pinion is rotationally meshing with a toothed side of the rack. Each pinion is fixed to a respective first primary gear (30, 130, 230, 530, 1030, 2030, 3030, 4030, 5030) arranged at a first axial side of the pinion. At least two first primary gears are mechanically connected to a common out- or input shaft (60, 160, 560, 1060), such that the at least two first primary gears transmit torque to or from the first out- or input shaft.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2015Date of Patent: July 28, 2020Assignee: Cascade Drives ABInventors: Stig Lundbäck, Stefan Svensson, André Hellestig, Patrik Möller, Stefan Björklund

Patent number: 10533636Abstract: A compound planet gear arrangement (100, 200, 300, 400) having a ring gear (110, 210, 310, 410), at least two planet gear units (120, 220, 329, 429) and a sun wheel (130, 230, 330, 430). Each planet gear unit comprise a primary planet gear (121, 221, 321, 421) with primary planet teeth meshing with the ring gear and a secondary planet gear (122,222, 322, 422) with secondary planet teeth meshing with the sun wheel. The secondary planet gear is axially connected with the primary planet gear and has a diameter which is larger than the diameter of the primary planet gear Each planet gear unit (120, 220, 320,420) comprises a shock absorbing transmission arrangement (20) which is arranged to allow a limited elastic rotation of the secondary planet teeth relative to the primary planet teeth. A drive train arrangement comprising such a compound planet gear arrangement is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2016Date of Patent: January 14, 2020Assignee: Cascade Drives ABInventor: Stig Lundbäck
