  • Patent number: 7647947
Abstract: A casing spacer includes a pair of generally semi-cylindrical metal shells disposed on opposed outer surface portions of a carrier pipe for securely maintaining the pipe in fixed, spaced relation from the inner surface of an outer casing. Opposed ends of the shells are connected together by nut and bolt combinations for securely attaching the casing spacer to the carrier pipe. Plural runners are directly attached in a spaced manner to the outer surfaces of the metal shells by respective nut and bolt combinations inserted through apertures in the casing spacer's metal shells for engaging the outing casing's inner surface in maintaining fixed spacing between the pipe and outer casing.

  • Patent number: 7364202
Abstract: A manually operated tool engages and draws towards one another opposed spaced flanges of a repair clamp disposed about a leaking pipe for moving the clamp into position and securely maintaining the clamp on the pipe over the leak allowing plural nut and bolt combinations on the clamp to be tightened in sealing off the leak. A movable handle has attached thereto first and second pivoting arms adapted for respectively engaging a slot within the clamp's first edge flange and the outer edge of the clamp's second opposed edge flange when the handle is in a first non-use position. Moving the handle to a second use position urges the clamp's edge flanges toward one another drawing the clamp securely about the pipe, allowing the clamp's nut and bolt combinations to be tightened. The tool is adjustable for use with a wide range of clamp sizes and pipe diameters.

  • Patent number: 7225837
Abstract: An integrated casing spacer and joint restraint unit is attached to each of a pair of pipe sections adjacent to an end-to-end connection of the pipe sections by means of first and second spacer/retainer ring members. Disposed on the outer periphery of each ring member in a spaced manner are plural risers each having a respective runner disposed on its outer end for engaging an inner surface of an outer casing and maintaining fixed spacing between the inner pipe sections and the outer casing. Plural paired risers, with one riser disposed on each ring member, are aligned with one another along the axis of the connected pipe sections and are each adapted for secure connection to a respective connecting rod for securely coupling the two ring members together and restraining relative movement between the two pipe sections.

  • Patent number: 7104572
Abstract: Plural spaced projections attached to the outer surface of a branch pipe of a tapping sleeve positioned on a main water line are disposed in contact with a rubber gasket also positioned on and disposed about the branch pipe. A two-piece split gland is also positioned about the branch pipe and engages a first surface of each of the projections. The split gland is adapted for coupling to the flange of a mechanical joint tapping valve by plural nut and bolt combinations for urging the gasket into intimate contact with a second opposed surface of each of the projections and the tapping sleeve's mechanical joint in forming a seal with the branch pipe. The split gland coupling allows for vertically orienting the tapping sleeve even when the main water line is not level, or horizontal, to facilitate tapping valve access via an extension pipe when the tapping sleeve is buried.

  • Patent number: 6571832
Abstract: A casing spacer disposed between and engaging an inner carrier pipe and an outer casing maintains separation between and alignment of the carrier pipe and the casing. The casing spacer includes plural connected shell members, or segments, disposed about and engaging an outer surface of a carrier pipe and an inner surface of the casing. Each shell member includes one or more non-slip members engaging the carrier pipe to prevent movement of the casing spacer along the carrier pipe/casing combination. Each shell member is comprised of a high-strength, pliable material permitting shell members of different sizes to be connected together in a single casing spacer to accommodate a wide range of carrier pipe circumferences. The shell members are connected by plural nut and bolt couplers, with each shell member further including tapered coupling apertures and plural connector flanges to facilitate assembly and installation.

  • Patent number: 6095197
Abstract: A pipe coupling stiffener is adapted for insertion in each open end of first and second pipes being connected in a sealed manner in a water or sewer line for reinforcing the pipe connection without affecting flow characteristics of a medium carried by the connected pipes. The pipe coupling stiffener includes a generally cylindrical member open at both ends and having a slot extending the length thereof, where the slot is defined by first and second spaced inner edges with the first edge extending transversely relative to opposed ends of the cylindrical member, while the second edge is oriented at a non-transverse angle to form a single-tapered slot. The pipe coupling stiffener further includes a single-tapered wedge adapted for tight-fitting insertion in the cylindrical member's lengthwise slot. The wedge includes curvilinear outer and inner plates having the same curvature as the cylindrical member and an intermediate plate disposed between and attached to the outer and inner plates.

  • Patent number: 5288108
Abstract: A bell joint repair clamp includes first and second semi-cylindrical sleeve members adapted for secure coupling by lug members drawn together by bolts for positioning about a leaking bell joint. Disposed intermediate the bell joint and coupled sleeve members is a sealing gasket preferably formed of a pair of gasket members each having a trapezoidal cross section and comprised of a deformable, compressible material to allow the gasket members to assume the shape of and engage the spigot and bell-shaped ends of the connected pipe sections in a tight-fitting manner. Opposed ends of the coupled sleeve members are each provided with a retaining plate and pipe clamping arrangement for confining the gasket in a sealed manner between the sleeve members and circumferentially about the bell joint for sealing a leak therein.
