  • Patent number: 12000087
Abstract: Various techniques are described for enhanced combustion of hot water extraction (HWE) derived liquor. For example, the HWE derived liquor can be pre-treated prior to introduction into a combustion chamber. The pre-treatment can include subjecting HWE derived liquor to filtration to remove suspended solids, evaporation to produce a first stage concentrated HWE liquor; additional concentration to produce a second stage concentrated HWE liquor; additional filtration to remove additional suspended solids; and pre-heating to produce a preheated HWE liquor. The preheated HWE liquor can be atomized and combined with pre-heated combustion air supplied into a combustion chamber to effect combustion of the HWE derived liquor.

  • Patent number: 11975503
Abstract: A cupstock for making rimmed cups, such as coffee cups, can be manufactured from recycled paper fibers while having a rim-formation index (RFI) and/or structural and flexural factors, based on certain properties of the cupstock to facilitate a quality rim. For example, the RFI can be based on the thickness, ring crush MD, bending stiffness MD, and areal density of the cupstock. The cupstock can be made from 100% recycled fibers from old corrugated cardboard (OCC) and provided with structural and flexural factors within respective ranges to ensure adequate rim formation when converted into a rimmed cup.

  • Patent number: 11897225
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for assembling thermally insulated containers are disclosed. In one example, an apparatus for inserting a first insulating liner panel and a second insulating liner panel into a rectangular box to form a thermally insulated container includes a first station with a flap opening assembly, a second station with a first liner panel insertion assembly for inserting a first liner panel within the box, and a third station with a second liner panel insertion assembly for inserting a second liner panel within the box. A box transfer system is configured to transfer the box between the first station, the second station, and the third station. A flap guide system maintains the at least two of the lid flaps of the box in the open configuration as the box is transferred from the first station to the third station.

  • Patent number: 9655481
Abstract: A stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products comprising a plurality of absorbent sheets and a method of folding and stacking the same. Each one of the absorbent sheets is folded twice about a first axis to define two inwardly folded inner panels and at least once about a second axis to define at least two outer panels sandwiching the inner panels therebetween. The second axis is substantially perpendicular to the first axis, Each of the absorbent sheet products comprises at least one outer panel at least partially sandwiched between a pair of outer panels of an adjacent one of the absorbent sheet products of the stack. Each one of the absorbent sheet products is entirely detached from all other absorbent sheet products of the stack.

  • Patent number: 9150326
Abstract: A cup holder tray having a plurality of cup pockets for receiving beverage cups therein, a finger spacing provided between two cup pockets, and a thumb-receiving surface above the finger spacing. The thumb-receiving surface can have friction protrusion to enhance friction with the thumb. Each one of the cup pockets having a circular wall and a system of cup holding surfaces protruding inwardly from the circular wall and cooperating in holding a beverage cup to be pushed downwardly therein. At least one of the cup holding surfaces can be connected to the circular wall by a lateral wall on each side, the lateral walls having a planar section oriented roughly normal to the beverage cup during use.

  • Patent number: 8701919
Abstract: The plastic container has a lid and a receptacle, the receptacle and lid having corresponding engagement portions matingly shaped for the lid and receptacle to be maintained in a closed configuration by a resilient effect. In one embodiment, the lid has a handle lip extending vertically downwardly from a horizontal edge of the lid, the handle lip being shaped to allow overcoming the resilient effect when manually pulled upwardly; the receptacle having a barrier strip covering the handle lip and preventing manual pulling access thereto, but being tearable to allow its manual removal. In an other embodiment, the receptacle has an upwardly protruding receptacle rib providing sealing abutment support to the lid closure, a gutter surrounding the receptacle rib, and the receptacle wall portion has an engagement portion matingly shaped to resiliently receive the outwardly protruding rib of the lid and inclined so as to face both inwardly and downwardly.
