Abstract: A cupstock for making rimmed cups, such as coffee cups, can be manufactured from recycled paper fibers while having a rim-formation index (RFI) and/or structural and flexural factors, based on certain properties of the cupstock to facilitate a quality rim. For example, the RFI can be based on the thickness, ring crush MD, bending stiffness MD, and areal density of the cupstock. The cupstock can be made from 100% recycled fibers from old corrugated cardboard (OCC) and provided with structural and flexural factors within respective ranges to ensure adequate rim formation when converted into a rimmed cup.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for assembling thermally insulated containers are disclosed. In one example, an apparatus for inserting a first insulating liner panel and a second insulating liner panel into a rectangular box to form a thermally insulated container includes a first station with a flap opening assembly, a second station with a first liner panel insertion assembly for inserting a first liner panel within the box, and a third station with a second liner panel insertion assembly for inserting a second liner panel within the box. A box transfer system is configured to transfer the box between the first station, the second station, and the third station. A flap guide system maintains the at least two of the lid flaps of the box in the open configuration as the box is transferred from the first station to the third station.

Abstract: A web material dispenser includes a housing and a pivotable roll support assembly provided therein. A first mandrel is provided at a first attachment location of the roll support assembly to support a first roll of web material. A second mandrel is provided at a second location of the roll support assembly to support a second roll of web material. The web material dispenser permits one-handed operation to replace the rolls of web material and to change positions of the mandrels within the dispenser. The roll support assembly may have a linkage arm and/or a roll support arm. Positions of the first and second mandrels relative to the dispenser's opening can be switched by pivoting the linkage arm relative to the housing and by pivoting the roll support arm relative to the linkage arm. A method for switching positions of rolls in the web material dispenser is also provided.

Abstract: A web material dispenser for housing two or more rolls is provided. The web material dispenser includes a housing having a fixed housing portion provided with a first roll support assembly coupled thereto for supporting a first roll of web material. The housing further has a movable housing portion, movable between a closed position and an open position, provided with a second roll support assembly coupled thereto for supporting a second roll of web material. The fixed and movable housing portions defining a housing chamber therebetween when the movable portion is in the closed position, for at least partially enclosing the two or more rolls of web material within the housing chamber. The movable portion is moved to the open position for providing access to the two or more rolls and allowing replacement of at least one of the first and second rolls.

Abstract: There is provided a locking assembly mountable to a dispenser having a base part and a cover movable relative to each other between a closed configuration and an open configuration. The locking assembly is configured to lock the base part and the cover in the closed configuration when mounted to the dispenser and comprises an unlocking component mountable to one of the base part and the cover and having an unlocking body translatable to configure the locking assembly into an unlocked configuration; and a pushbutton at least partially contained in the unlocking body. The locking assembly is selectively configurable into a key-opening configuration wherein the pushbutton is prevented from translation and in a pushbutton-opening configuration wherein pressure on the pushbutton engages the unlocking body into translation to configure the locking assembly into the unlocked configuration.

Abstract: A spindle assembly for supporting a web material roll in a web material dispenser, the web material roll having first and second extremities and defining a central cavity provided with a bushing toward the first extremity. The spindle assembly includes a bushing-engaging member having: a first dispenser mounting portion mountable to a first side of the dispenser, and a bushing-engaging portion sized and configured to fit at least partially in the bushing; and a spindle connection member having: a second dispenser mounting portion mountable to a second side of the dispenser, and a connecting portion removably mountable to the bushing-engaging member; thereby allowing use of the roll with the bushing in the dispenser. Abstract: A bushing for a web material roll including a body sized to be fitted into the web material roll; the bushing further including a wall extending across the central cavity of the web material roll when the bushing is in the central cavity of the web material roll and defining an opening for receiving a roll support therethrough, the opening being bordered by a roll support contacting surface, the bushing having one or more bearing surfaces for contacting the roll support and supporting the web material roll, the one or more bearing surfaces including at least the roll support contacting surface bordering the opening. Abstract: The present disclosure concerns a web material feed assembly for a web material dispenser comprising a housing, the web material feed assembly comprising first and second rollers rotatable relative to the housing of the dispenser about first and second parallel axes. The first roller is provided with friction rings forming a nip between the first and second rollers for feeding the web material therethrough, at least one of the friction rings comprising a recessed surface forming an anti-wrinkling space between the first and second rollers. The disclosure also concerns a web material dispenser with such a web material feed assembly and a method for preventing wrinkles in a web material dispensed by a web material dispenser with such a web material feed assembly.
