Abstract: A method and system for manufacturing a custom designed container or package and an insert received in the container or package by selecting a size of the container or package using a size graphical user interface of a graphical user interface displayed on a display device. The custom foam insert can be designed using an insert shape graphical user interface displayed on the display device. The custom foam insert includes one or more cavities corresponding to respective one or more features of one or more objects to be retained in the container or package.
Abstract: A carrying case for sterile objects includes: an outer container, having a lid; an optional tamper-proof seal coupled to said lid; a removable inner tray made of thermoplastic polymer; and a handle coupled to said inner tray. In another embodiment, the outer container is constructed of a polymeric material capable of being sanitized to be transported in its entirety into a sterile environment, providing a user with a greater selection of items since the user could have access to the entire contents of the case. The material and design of the case with the removable tray make it lightweight, enable easy and effective cleaning, and minimize the risk of contamination. In an operating room environment, the case provides faster access to required medical equipment while minimizing the risk to patients. The case would also be valuable in research and forensic laboratory environments where contamination is a major concern.
