    Abstract: A method of performing a financial transaction by a casino customer located at a casino gaming station. The method includes providing a portable, remote control unit (RCU) to the customer at the gaming station. Transaction information is entered into the RCU relating to a desired financial transaction. The transaction information is signaled from the RCU to a base processor via a wireless transmission. The RCU is operated to electronically capture a signature of the customer, with this electronically captured signature being signaled from the RCU to the base processor via a wireless transmission. Finally, the base processor is operated to print, via a printer electronically connected to the base processor, a negotiable financial document based upon the transaction information. The printed negotiable financial document includes the customer's signature, generated by the base processor based upon the electronically captured signature.

    Abstract: A coin handling machine (10) has a coin sorting member (12) with a plurality of sorting openings (15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20) by which respective denominations of coins (14) are sorted, having a coin driving member (21) with webs (22) for moving the coins to the coin sorting openings (15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20), having a motor (60) coupled to the coin driving member (21), and having a brake (65) for stopping the motor (60), the coin handling machine (10). A coin imaging sensor (40) optically images at least a portion of a coin (14) and for transmitting dimensional data for identifying coins by denomination. A main controller (120) receives said dimensional data and counts each coin for bag stopping purposes separate from the counts maintained for totalizing the sorted coins. The controller (120) transmits signals to at least reduce the speed of the motor (60) when a bag count limit is reached for a respective denomination.

    Abstract: A cash dispenser (10) includes a secure enclosure (11, 12, 14) with an enclosure body (11), a door (12) on one side of the enclosure body (11) for opening and closing an access opening (9) into the enclosure (11, 12, 14), a lock (14) for securing the door (11) to the enclosure body (12), and a cash drawer assembly (20) with a plurality of drawers (22) for holding a plurality of denominations of cash. The drawer assembly has a frame with sliding members (28) near the top and wheels (21) at the front for moving the drawer assembly (20) out of the secure enclosure (11, 12, 14) through the access opening (9). The enclosure (11, 12, 14) has a bottom wall (11b) with an aperture (11d) therein sized to allow the wheels (21) to rest on a supporting surface (35) for the enclosure (11, 12, 14) and being open to a front side when the door (12) is open, to allow the drawer assembly (20) to be rolled forwardly through the access opening (9) along the supporting surface (35).

    Abstract: A coin dispenser includes a rotatable magazine and a stationary actuator. The rotatable magazine rotates about a rotation axis and includes a plurality of coin receptacles extending substantially parallel to the rotation axis. Each coin receptacle holds a stack of coins therein. The stationary actuator includes a coin-ejection member that moves linearly in a direction substantially parallel to the rotation axis of the rotatable magazine. When in an extended position, the coin-ejection member will contact an edge of at least a lowermost coin in a specified one of the coin receptacles as the magazine rotates to move that coin receptacle into alignment with the coin-ejection member, thereby ejecting that coin from the coin dispenser. When the coin-ejection member is in its retracted position, the coin receptacles will travel past the coin ejection member without any engagement occurring between the coin-ejection member and the coins within the receptacles.

    Abstract: A coin sorting machine (10) has a motor output shaft (31) driving a coin queueing disk (21) and also has a coin sorting assembly (22) having a coin pushing member (24). A power transmission device (32, 34) transmits power from the motor output shaft (31) to a second shaft (36) driving the coin pushing member (24). A coin sensor (26b) senses each coin in a respective denomination as it is sorted into a respective receptacle (17) during a sorting operation. A controller (38) receives signals from the coin sensor (26b) determines a last coin in a bag count limit and generates a braking signal to a braking assembly (37) to stop rotation of the second shaft (36) without directly mechanically braking the motor output shaft (31) or the motor (30).
