Abstract: A radio communication terminal receives position information showing a position of another radio communication terminal. The radio communication terminal obtains, from the position information, a terminal ID of the radio communication terminal, and a beacon ID for identifying the predetermined location nearest to the radio communication terminal. The radio communication terminal accepts the predetermined location designated by a user. The radio communication terminal determines as a communication partner terminal, the other radio communication terminal that is nearest to the accepted predetermined location based on the terminal ID and the beacon ID. The radio communication terminal performs communication with the determined communication partner terminal.

Abstract: In a front/back reversing unit, a base metal sheet having rollers attached thereon is engaged with a rotation spindle fixed to a fitting such that the base metal sheet is rotatable in a horizontal direction. When an operation of rolling up a print target medium is started and if winding tension with respect to the print target medium to be wrapped around a winding shaft becomes unbalanced, the front/back reversing unit rotates in accordance with the winding tension so as to balance the winding tension. Then, when the winding tension applied to the print target medium becomes balanced, the front/back reversing unit is returned to its original position by an elastic member, and the roller of the front/back reversing unit and the winding shaft become substantially parallel to each other.
Abstract: A barcode reading apparatus has a scanner unit for reading barcodes and a processor for controlling whole operation of the apparatus. The barcode reading apparatus judges whether a distance between a operation unit for receiving an instruction to be given by a user and an operating body such as the finger of the user falls with in a prescribed range, and starts up and brings the scanner unit to a standby state, when it is determined that the distance between the operation unit and the operating body falls with in the prescribed range, and waits for an instruction of making the scanner unit start reading barcodes.
Abstract: A central transmits, to a peripheral connected with the central, re-connection information indicating a timing of a re-connection after a disconnection. Subsequently, the central executes a connection discontinuing process based on the re-connection information. In addition, the central controls power supply for wireless communication at a timing determined based on the re-connection information. Thereafter, the central executes a re-connection process with the peripheral based on the re-connection information shared therewith prior to the disconnection.
Abstract: An emotion estimator of a dialogue control device estimates a dialogue partner's emotion based on the dialogue partner's facial expression or voice prosody. A dialogue controller controls the dialogue with the dialogue partner using a topic selected based on whether the emotion estimated by the emotion estimator is good or bad. Specifically, the dialogue controller controls the dialogue with the dialogue partner based on a topic map created by a topic mapper and including a topic that the dialogue partner likes.

Abstract: An image processing method for diagnosing a disease using a captured image of an affected area, includes separating the captured image memorized into a brightness component and a color information component; separating the brightness component into a base component and a detail component; performing a highlighting process on the detail component; and restoring a brightness component from the base component and a highlighted detail component, and then generating a highlighted image using a restored brightness component and the color information component. The highlighting process includes highlighting the detail component depending on likelihood of vessel of a region to be diagnosed.
Abstract: Peripherals and send timing information presenting a timing of acquiring time information to a central. The central changes the timing in the received timing information so that the timing presented by the timing information received from the peripheral does not overlap with the timing presented by the already received timing information of the other peripheral. The central makes the peripheral change a setting of the timing information based on the changed timing information.
Abstract: In the present invention, a control section distinctly displays, as indexes for indicating that data (image) switching can be performed from a starting point that is the arrayed position of data selected as a display target from among a plurality of data arrayed in virtual and multiple dimensions based on plural types of imaging parameters, information regarding the array status of the plurality of data on a display section, in association with plural directions in which data switching can be performed. As a result of this configuration, when instructing to perform data switching in a direction arbitrarily selected from among a plurality of data switching directions, the user can instruct to perform data switching while visually checking information regarding the array status of data for each data switching direction. That is, by this configuration, data in each data switching direction becomes more recognizable visually.
