  • Patent number: 5583558
Abstract: A recording apparatus has an array of recording elements arranged in a main scanning direction and having a predetermined dot pattern, and forms a dot image on a recording medium located opposite to the recording elements. Reception circuit receives image data of a predetermined dot density. A plurality of line buffers store one dot line of data of interest as a printing target among the image data and aligned in the main scanning direction, and plural dot lines of data preceding and following the one dot line with respect to a sub-scanning direction. A compensation data generating circuit converts the one dot line of data of interest as the printing target into N lines of compensation data, divided by N with respect to the sub-scanning direction, based on the plural dot lines of data preceding and following the one dot line. A control circuit controls the time for activating the recording elements based on the compensation data.

  • Patent number: 5159666
Abstract: In enlarging dot matrix data stored in an original memory on a work memory, it is discriminated whether or not a data write position overlaps the position of already-produced data. If no overlapping occurs, the data is written as it is in the work memory. If overlapping occurs, it is then discriminated whether or not the color of a dot in the original memory to be processed is the same as that of a dot adjacent to the target dot. If the colors are the same, data is written at positions except the overlapped portion. In other words, data already written at the overlapped position is given a priority. On the other hand, if the dots are of different colors, data at the overlapped portion is temporarily cleared and data is written at positions including the overlapped portion.

  • Patent number: 5104245
Abstract: A print image is stored in a frame memory. A CPU combines form data and non-form data and develops a resultant synthetic image in the frame memory, thereby obtaining the print image. The CPU sequentially develops only non-form data in a previously set area of the image memory after form data has been developed without erasing the developed form data until the form data is subjected to change. Thus, new print images are sequentially obtained by sequentialy developing new non-form data with the form data developed only once. A printer prints a print image stored in the image memory. The image of the form data developed in the image memory is held until an instruction is issued to change the form data.

  • Patent number: 4755812
Abstract: A method of driving a liquid crystal recording device comprises applying a drive signal to liquid crystal micro shutters defined at the intersection of common electrodes that are normal to signal electrodes. The drive signal is a signal experienced by a microshutter as a result of the application of a selected signal to the common electrode and the application of a recording signal to the signal electrode. Both the selected and recording signals contain components of frequencies grater and less than a specified frequency which causes the dielectric anistotropy of the liquid crystal to disappear. A drive signal which opens or closes microshutters for a selected period of time includes a signal whose frequency is lower than said specified frequency, and superposed waveform obtained when the signal whose frequency is loser than the specified frequency is superposed upon a signal whose frequency is higher than the specified frequency.

  • Patent number: 4745430
Abstract: A temperature control device uses a thermo-sensitive element to detect the temperature of an imaging system heated fixer device member. A comparator compares the potential generated by the thermo-sensitive element corresponding to the detected temperature with a reference voltage to set the temperature of the heated member to a predetermined level. A signal representing the comparison result is used for controlling the temperature of the heated member. Any abnormality of the heated member is detected on the basis of the output signal from an oscillator producing a signal which changes the reference potential at predetermined periods and from the comparator output signal.
