Patent number: 6581995Abstract: The invention relates to a hoist arrangement (10) for a dragline rigging. The hoist arrangement includes a triangular framework comprising a hollow fibreglass spreader bar (14) and two fibreglass ties (12) which are attachable to the spreader bar. The fibreglass ties (12) are connectable to a pick-up link on a dragline rigging, and a pair of lower hoist members in the form of wire-reinforced, synthetic rubber belts (16) depend from the spreader bar (14) and include attachment formations (42) at lower ends thereof for attaching the hoist arrangement (10) to trunnions on a dragline bucket.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2000Date of Patent: June 24, 2003Assignee: Caterpillar Commercial SarlInventor: Oswald Cornelius Dannhauser Zaayman

Patent number: 6484423Abstract: The invention relates to a dragline rigging system (10) which includes a pair of drag lines (12) connected to drag connection points (24) on a dragline bucket (18) for dragging the bucket through material to be excavated, a pair of hoist lines (14) connected to trunnions (30) on the dragline bucket for hoisting the bucket with excavated material during excavation, and a dump line (16) for lowering the front of the bucket (18) during dumping of excavated material. The dump line (16) is arranged to extend from the drag lines (12) over a pulley (52) linked to the hoist lines (14) and to a dump connection point (48) on the dragline bucket (18), and is in the form of a composite belt (42) which includes an inner material for receiving loads and an outer protective cover for resisting wear.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 2001Date of Patent: November 26, 2002Assignee: Caterpillar Commercial SARLInventor: George Barnard Murray

Patent number: 6074120Abstract: A quick coupler assembly connects an implement to a work machine. The coupler assembly includes a cylindrical catcher rotatably mounted between a pair of plates. During coupling of the implement with the coupler assembly, the catcher is rotated at a cam surface by an implement coupling pin which allows a latch member mounted to the pair of plates to slidingly engage automatically with the catcher for locking the catcher in a closed position. The closed position of the catcher locates a jaw thereof in a position which retains the implement coupling pin within a receiving notch of the catcher thereby coupling the implement to the work machine. The ability to couple an implement to a work machine with ease and simplicity in conjunction with the utilization of durable components, increases usability and reliability while reducing costs.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 1998Date of Patent: June 13, 2000Assignee: Caterpillar Commercial SARLInventor: Craig D. Patent number: 5975168Abstract: A trimming device and method maintains a first trimming member of a tree harvester head at a preselected transverse position relative to a tree trunk during relative longitudinal movement of the tree trunk. A first control device having a tree trunk engaging portion movably connected to the first trimming member selectively establishes the relative transverse position of the first trimming member and the tree trunk. An actuator urges the tree trunk engaging portion into engagement with the tree trunk and the first trimming member at the preselected transverse position.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 1998Date of Patent: November 2, 1999Assignee: Caterpillar Commercial SARLInventor: Jan A.
