    Abstract: The present invention relates to a litter for use in animal keeping, consisting of 10 to 80% by weight of cellulosic substance which is selected from at least one component of the group consisting of wood meal, bran, hulls and bran, cereal hull and cereal husk, 10 to 70% by weight of cereal flour and 0.1 to 4% by weight of gel former, based on the total weight of the litter, where the above components always amount to 100% by weight, where the cellulosic substance is present in the form of particles with a particle size of from 0.2 to 6 mm.
