    Abstract: An actuation apparatus includes a housing and a piston. The housing has an inlet for a pneumatic or hydraulic actuation medium to pass into at least one piston space of the housing. The piston is movably arranged in the piston space. The piston can be moved by the actuation medium at least between an open position and a closed position, such that a valve can be actuated at least by movement from the open position into the closed position. In the closed position, the piston and the housing are in operative connection with one another such that a seal is formed downstream of the inlet for sealing the piston space for the actuation medium. At least the regions of the piston and of the housing in operative connection have a modulus of elasticity greater than 10 kN/mm2.
