Publication number: 20140052462Abstract: Methods and systems are described for creating health status surveys using questions automatically derived from codes of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF), promulgated by the World Health Organization, and then automatically scheduling the surveys to be provided to patients and their clinicians. Results from the surveys can be compared against results from patients with similar medical diagnoses or surgical procedures. Survey results from patients with different medical diagnoses or surgical procedures can also be compared for questions derived from the same ICF code, resulting in greater pools of data from which to extract statistics.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 9, 2013Publication date: February 20, 2014Applicant: CEDARON MEDICAL, INC.Inventor: Malcolm L. Patent number: 6177940Abstract: System for data input and storage and for correlation of such data against group data contained in a linked database. The data is input via a series of hierarchical menus, which menus may include sub-menus and fields that enable a user to directly input data for storage into the database. Data regarding an individual may be entered into the database directly by the individual using the hierarchical menu system.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1995Date of Patent: January 23, 2001Assignee: Cedaron Medical, Inc.Inventors: Malcolm L. Bond, Bruce Richard Chapman

Patent number: 5720711Abstract: A system for isolating, evaluating and exercising the muscle groups of the human hand which includes structure for detecting the cardinal movements of the hand and translating the movements into rotational data for the system, the structure for detecting effectively isolating the movements of the hand so that the movements of other muscle groups of the body are not detected by the system. The system also generally includes an assembly for providing a selective variable resistance to the structure for detecting and for ascertaining the force applied to the structure for detecting by the movements of the hand.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 1994Date of Patent: February 24, 1998Assignee: Cedaron Medical, Inc.Inventors: Malcolm Bond, Gary Engle, Theodore Fleidner Naumann

Patent number: 5695431Abstract: A system for isolating, evaluating and exercising the muscle groups of the human hand which includes apparatus for detecting the cardinal movements of the hand and translating the movements into rotational data for the system, the apparatus for detecting effectively isolating the movements of the hand so that the movements of other muscle groups of the body are not detected by the system. The system also generally includes a mechanism for providing a selective variable resistance to the apparatus for detecting and for ascertaining the force applied to the apparatus for detecting by the movements of the hand.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 1994Date of Patent: December 9, 1997Assignee: Cedaron Medical, Inc.Inventors: Malcolm Bond, Gary Engle, Joseph J. Forma, Theodore F. Naumann

Patent number: 5597373Abstract: A system for isolating, evaluating and exercising the muscle groups of the human hand, wrist, arm and shoulder including an adaptable detector for interpreting the cardinal movements of at least one muscle group of the hand during flexion, extension, or deviation of the wrist, or abduction, opposition, flexion or hyperextension of individual digits of the hand. The detector translates the movements of the muscle group into rotational data for the system and effectively isolates the movements of the muscle group so that the movements of other muscle groups of the body are not detected by the system. The system also includes a controlled resistance coupled to the detector which provides a variable resistance against the muscle group and ascertains the force applied to the detector by the movements of the one muscle group. The resistance can be varied to provide isotonic, isokinetic, or isometric modes of testing against said at least one muscle group.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 1991Date of Patent: January 28, 1997Assignee: Cedaron Medical, Inc.Inventors: Malcolm Bond, Gary Engle, Joseph J. Forma, Theodore F. Naumann

Patent number: 5421798Abstract: An apparatus for evaluation of a limb of a test subject. The apparatus generally includes a pedal or grip to secure the distal end of the limb to the apparatus and a seat to secure the proximal end of the limb to the apparatus. A motor and transmission assembly is coupled to the pedal or grip to provide a controlled load to the distal end of the limb. The apparatus also includes a measurement and control system to determine the load to be applied, and to measure and compute the force on each joint of the limb while the controlled load is applied to the limb.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 1993Date of Patent: June 6, 1995Assignee: Cedaron Medical, Inc.Inventors: Malcolm L. Bond, Gary Engle
