Abstract: The invention is in the field of biomedical testing and relates to a device for detecting the presence of chemical and/or biological substances in a sample comprising a reagent compartment (1) which is contained in a cylindrical housing (2), which cylindrical housing (2) comprises at least a first open end; and a sample receiver (8) which is also contained in said cylindrical housing (2); and an operating means (4) capable of moving said reagent compartment (1) and/or said sample receiver (3); and wherein the reagent compartment (1) and the sample receiver (3) can be in at least two positions relative to each other, said positions comprising a first position wherein the sample receiver (3) is not in analyte-exchangeable contact with the reagent compartment (1), and a second position wherein the sample receiver (3) is in analyte-exchangeable contact with the reagent compartment (1).
