    Abstract: A method for enabling security on a mobile terminal having a communication link with a circuit switched network against suspicious activities is provided. Activities performed at the mobile terminal are performed according to a security policy provided from the circuit switched network. Detection of a suspicious activity is alerted to the circuit switched network when the suspicious activity is detected. A policy manager server of the circuit switched network changes the security policy to cure the suspicious activity on the mobile terminal. Call traffic delivered to/sent from the mobile terminal is filtered out, which causes the suspicious activity according to the security policy. The mobile terminal enforces a security measure on a suspicious activity according to the security policy.

In one implementation, a method may include analyzing network traffic of a number of users; determining, based on the analysis, whether a content item is a popular content item, as determined by requests for the content item from the users; and transmitting, a signal, in response to the determination, to schedule preemptive multicast delivery of the content item to mobile devices. The multicast delivery may be performed over one or more radio interfaces in which multiple mobile devices receive the content item over a shared radio channel.

    Abstract: A system provides Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) to mobile stations through a wireless communication network for person-to-person traffic and traffic to/from an application. The network may include a plurality of Multimedia Messaging Service Centers (MMSCs) coupled to the wireless communication network for MMS communication between two mobile stations, and between a mobile station and an application during call origination mode operations. A second MMSC coupled to the wireless communication network, provides MMS communications between mobile stations and one or more applications during call termination mode operations. In a mobile origination mode operation, the second MMSC concentrates signaling from the first MMSCs and forwards received MMS data, and in a mobile termination mode operations, the second MMSC delivers MMS data to a destination mobile station without forwarding the MMS data to one of the first MMSCs.

    Abstract: Technology is disclosed for activating a telematics unit, particularly with respect to wireless communication service through a mobile network, e.g. to re-activate a unit that was previously de-activated. In a detailed example, a user initiates a unique action such as a two-button push or holding down certain buttons on the telematics unit, which causes the unit to initiate a call to the telematics service provider (TSP), e.g. by dialing a cleared number. The serving wireless switch routes the cleared number call to the TSP, who will gather user information and activate the unit for telematics service. The TSP then forwards an activation request identifying the unit, to the network operator. The operator updates its systems in a manner to enable downloading of provisioning data, typically including a mobile directory number/mobile identification number (MDN/MIN), to the telematics unit through the mobile wireless network.

Then, the MSC sends the message to the URI corresponding to the MDN if the first MSC stores the URI corresponding to the MDN. The MSC sends a request to find the URI corresponding to the destination MDN to an external tElephone NUmber Mapping (ENUM) server, if the first MSC does not store the URI corresponding to the destination MDN. The MSC sends the message to the URI corresponding to the destination MDN if the external ENUM server sends the URI corresponding to the destination MDN.

    Abstract: Prepaid PTT service calls through a switched mobile communication network may originate at off-net roaming locations. A flag is set in a mobile telephone station indicating that the mobile station is that of a prepaid subscriber, to set a PTT client program to its “prepaid mode.” When the prepaid mobile station initiates a PTT call while roaming off-net, the call is directed to a prepaid server, and the PTT client program assists the subscriber to re-enter the called number when the prepaid server prompts the subscriber to do so. The call can then be extended from the prepaid server platform to a PTT switch for establishing communication with one or more selected contacts in a contact list, based on translation of the contact number to one or more destination telephone numbers for the called contact(s).
