    Abstract: A door having a releasable door lock is disclosed for use in e.g. a bathroom. The locking mechanism comprises a plate having a slot which in use is moved to surround the square section spindle and prevent its rotation. The plate is moved by means of a rotatable pin which includes a toothed wheel such that rotation of the wheel moves the plate and locks it in position. The door is releasable from the outside of the room in an emergency.
