    Abstract: Process for making thermally stable macro porous spheres with or without central core cavity includes steps of homogenizing dry pulverized selective constituents with or without burnable core particles and with <25% combustibles; sprinkling over pan pelletizer wetted with PVA aqua sol binder and rolling to form spheres having <25% moisture and dry compacting in pelletizer before oven drying at 90-100° C. until moisture and core particles are partially destroyed and sintering under rotary motion of the spheres for 45-60 minutes at 1350-1380° C. before being rapidly cooled down to ambient temperature and sieving and recovering therefrom low-to-high temperatures >90% loose fill macro porous spheres for catalyst and moulded bricks/monoliths forming refractory insulation applications.

    Abstract: A hydraulic composition comprising (a) a cement composition prepared by subjecting size-adjusted cement having its particle size distribution adjusted to have a 50% pass particle diameter of from 2 to 7 .mu.m and a ratio of a 90% pass particle diameter to a 10% pass particle diameter of from 25 to 40 to a water-spraying treatment to increase the loss on ignition thereof by 0.5 to 2.0% by weight and (b) a water reducing agent; and a process for producing a concrete pile by using a mixture of the hydraulic composition and from 18 to 25% by weight of water based on the hydraulic composition. A mortar or concrete mixture of the hydraulic composition exhibits sufficient fluidity and provides a hardened product having a greatly improved compressive strength. The concrete pile produced by using the hydraulic composition has a compressive strength of 800 kgf/cm.sup.2 or higher at one day age.

    Abstract: A method of obtaining a correlation between a pattern to be identified and a number of reference patterns by irradiating and displaying the pattern to be identified and the reference patterns on an optical display plane, thereby producing a complex optical amplitude distribution. This distribution is Fourier-transformed to produce a first power spectrum corresponding to the light intensity distribution of its Fourier transformation patterns. The patterns are again irradiated based upon the first power spectrum and a second Fourier transform is performed to produce a second power spectrum which is the light intensity distribution of the second Fourier transformation pattern. The area of this distribution is restricted by controlling the transmittance or the reflectance of each of the portions of the display plane.

    Abstract: An optical associative identifier is disclosed which is used to determine the closest match between an image to be identified and a plurality of reference images. The identifier includes a display area for displaying the various images, the display area additionally functioning as a spatial light modulator. First and second optical Fourier transform devices are included which are used to compare the reference images to the image to be identified. The output light intensity of each of the reference images is modulated in accordance with a two-dimensional intensity distribution corresponding to the correlation between the image to be identified in each of the reference images. Based upon a comparison of these output light intensities, a match between the image to be identified and one of the reference images can be made.

Further, the absorption intensity of the spectrum at a sodium absorption wavelength and potassium absorption wavelength should be continuously measured and corrected by interpolating so as to produce a parameter for monitoring.

The upper portion of the rotary seal member protrudes outwardly from an opening in the top plate of the casing to separate the reduced air pressure in the discharge duct perfectly from the high pressure in the raw material dispersion chamber which is radially outside of the seal member. Furthermore, the rotary seal member can be provided with a circular groove in a J-shaped sectional structure.     Abstract: A cover for forming a space for coating is provided above an electroconductive belt conveyor for adjusting an electric field at an end portion of a flat plate-like object to be coated, electrostatic powder coating guns pointed at the object to be coated on the belt conveyor in the space for coating are provided, and means for introducing air into the space for coating and means for exhausting the air are respectively provided. As a result, the strength of the electric field formed from the electrostatic powder coating guns to the electroconductive belt conveyor and the object to be coated is made uniform through their entire surface so that the thickness of a powder layer to be adhered to the object to be coated is made uniform from its central portion to an end portion. Consequently, the waste of the powder coating material is prevented, and local cracks in a portion having a great thickness generated when the coated object is bent are prevented.

A belt conveyor is disposed at the bottom of the booth. An electric field is formed so that it extends from a paint gun to the conveyor belt. The majority of oversprayed powder paint produced during painting becomes attached to the upper surface of a portion of the conveyor belt, is carried, together with this belt portion, to the outside of the booth, and is recovered from the conveyor by a blowing-type of static eliminator, thereby minimizing the mount of oversprayed powder paint mixed in an exhaust of the booth drawn through the sidewall.

The dispersing and classifying vanes depend from the under surface of the horizontal dispersing disc for an appropriate length.
