  • Patent number: 11642175
Abstract: In an example, a system is disclosed for registering an anatomical model to an anatomical structure of a patient. The system includes an anatomical measurement wire (“AMW”) configured to be navigated within the anatomical structure, the AMW comprising at least one sensor. A tracking system is configured to provide tracking data representing multiple positions of the sensor in a spatial coordinate system. A computing device is configured to generate a tracking point cloud based on the tracking data. The computing device is configured to register the predetermined anatomical model with the anatomical structure of the patient by matching the tracking point cloud with the model point cloud with respect to the predetermined anatomical model based on a quality metric.

  • Patent number: 11642178
Abstract: A guidewire, which can be used with a surgical navigation system, is provided. An elongate tube body defines a tube lumen and has longitudinally spaced proximal and distal body ends. The tube body includes a first longitudinal biasing portion including at least one first-direction helical cut therealong. The tube body also includes a second longitudinal biasing portion, including at least one second-direction helical cut therealong. The first direction is radially opposite the first direction. A core wire is at least partially located inside the tube lumen and has longitudinally spaced proximal and distal core wire ends. A tracking sensor is located at least partially within the tube lumen.

  • Patent number: 11604556
Abstract: In an example, a graphical user interface can be used to display a graphical representation of a virtual reference structure for an anatomic structure, the reference structure being determined from geometry of the anatomic structure. A location parameter along the reference structure is determined in response to a first user input from a user input device. A graphical proxy marker is displayed on the graphical representation of the reference structure based on the location parameter. A fixed location is selected along the reference structure for a final graphical marker in response to a second user input from the from the user input device. An output visualization is generated to include at least one view of the anatomic structure and a graphical representation of the final graphical marker at the fixed location.

  • Patent number: 11538574
Abstract: An example method may include acquiring images from cameras, each having a known position and orientation with respect to a spatial coordinate system of an augmented reality (AR) device. The acquired images may include portions of a multi-modal marker device that includes at least one tracking sensor having a three-dimensional position that is detectable in a coordinate system of a tracking system. A three-dimensional position is estimated for the portions of the multi-modal marker device with respect to the spatial coordinate system of the AR device based on each of the respective acquired images and the known position and orientation of the cameras with respect to the spatial coordinate system of the AR device. The method also includes computing an affine transform configured to register the coordinate system of the tracking system with a visual space of a display that is in the spatial coordinate system of the AR device.

  • Patent number: 11393110
Abstract: An example method includes acquiring a first image using a medical imaging modality that includes a two-dimensional field of view to include a patient and a multi-modal marker. A second image is acquired using the medical image modality. The second image includes the patient and the multimodal marker and is along a non-coincident angle with respect to the first image. Predetermined portions of the multi-modal marker are visible in the first and second images and have a known location and orientation with respect to at least one sensor detectable by a tracking system. The method also includes estimating a three-dimensional position for predetermined portions of the multi-modal marker. The method also includes determining an affine transformation for registering a three-dimensional coordinate system of the tracking system with a three-dimensional coordinate system of the medical imaging modality.

  • Patent number: 11380043
Abstract: In an example, a method can include segmented image volume data for at least one anatomic structure, wherein the segmented image volume data includes a 3-D image volume that includes the at least one anatomic structure. The method can include searching outward from a computed centerline for the at least one anatomic structure to detect a surface of one or more regions of interest of the at least one anatomic structure by evaluating values associated with voxels representing the 3-D image volume that includes the at least one anatomic structure relative to a threshold. The method can further include isolating the one or more regions of interest of the at least one anatomic structure in response to the searching and generating a region of interest model based on the one or more isolated regions of interest.

  • Patent number: 11132801
Abstract: In an example, a method includes selecting a user-selected seed voxel from a medical image. The user-selected seed voxel is shifted to an adjusted seed voxel in an evaluation region based on an evaluation. The evaluation region includes the user-selected seed voxel and at least one other voxel within a predetermined spatial distance. A given region in the image volume is filled with voxels to provide a segmented volume for the given region based on the adjusted seed voxel and segmentation filter parameters. A segmentation region is evaluated to ascertain a quality of the fill. Seed candidates may be determined from a set of the filled voxels adjacent a boundary of the for another region given region in response to determining that the quality of the fill indicates a valid segmentation for the anatomic vessel structure in the given region. Segmented vessel image data is stored.
