Abstract: A street sweeper gutter brush is movable by a ram between an upper inboard retracted position, and a lowered operating position. A suitable linkage connected to the brush permits vertical movement, and a tie rod connecting the sweeper vehicle frame with the brush assembly permits horizontal swinging movement about a fixed vertical axis on the vehicle. By varying the length of the tie rod, and thus the length or radius of the horizontal component of swing, the brush can be moved from a retracted position to a number of different lateral and vertical positions relative to the vehicle and street.
