  • Patent number: 11495060
Abstract: A system and method associate a transponder identifier with a transient user account. The account is automatically activated and vehicle license plate information from the transient user's vehicle is automatically associated upon departure of the transient user from a vehicle departure point of a transportation hub. Toll charges incurred by the vehicle can then be associated with the transient user's account based on either reading the transponder identifier or capturing the license plate information. The account is automatically deactivated and closed-out upon return of the vehicle to a vehicle return point at the end of the transient use.
