Patents Assigned to Central Moloney, Inc.
  • Patent number: 8309845
Abstract: An oil-filled, pad-mounted tank for electrical distribution transformers, where the tank includes a front panel, a rear panel, a pair of side panels, a top panel, and a bottom panel that are joined to form an enclosed volume for receiving a transformer core and windings and a quantity of insulating oil. The side panels include a plurality of side panel sections that may include both curved and flat panel sections. Each side panel includes at least one curved panel section that is curved concavely and at least one curved panel section that is curved convexly. Each side panel section may also include one or more flat panel sections.

  • Patent number: 7009102
Abstract: An insulating cap and method of using the same is disclosed. The insulating cap has one or more slots sized to accept edges of a rib of an arrester bracket so that the cap may be affixed to the rib by sliding the cap over the rib. Tabs at lower portions of the slotted side portions provide for snap fitting the cap to the rib. A cover portion of the cap extends forward from the slotted portion and is sized to at least partially cover a bolt or fastener that connects the arrester bracket to a mounting bracket that is, in turn, affixed to a transformer tank. The cover portion has curved or rounded upper surfaces to serve as a perch deterrent. The insulating cap is formed from a UV stabilized, polypropylene copolymer.

  • Patent number: 6995313
Abstract: An insulator bushing wildlife guard having features for easier alignment and installation of the guard on the bushing. The guard has two hinged body sections of insulating material. An outer edge of each body section is provided with a plurality of flexible fingers that allow conductors to pass through from the interior to the exterior of the enclosure when the two portions of the guard are engaged. In one embodiment, the guard is spring biased toward a closed position. A handle on the back has inner grooves to make it easier to grasp and manipulate the guard using a shotgun stick. On a lower front side of each portion of the guard, spaced-apart, curved, horizontal upper and lower flanges help align the guard with the topmost skirt of a bushing. Medial walls having a curved, sloped, concave or otherwise inwardly-directed configuration between the two flanges facilitate forcing the guard open by pushing it against the bushing.

  • Patent number: 6005196
Abstract: The triggered wildlife guard is formed from first and second body sections hinged together to pivot between an open and a closed position. In the closed position, the first and second body sections latch together to form a hollow body open at a first end and having a top wall at a second end which defines a conductor opening. A spring assembly biases the first and second body sections toward the closed position, and a releasable trigger extends between the first and second body sections to hold them in the open position until the trigger is released. A wire stop formed on the first and second body sections bridges a gap therebetween in the open position to retain a bushing lead wire in the conductor opening.

  • Patent number: 5623891
Abstract: The internal fault indicator includes an open ended housing mounted in an opening in the wall of a transformer casing. An indicator lens is attached over a first open end of the housing and a diaphragm is attached over a second open end of the housing with the second end of the housing being positioned so that the diaphragm is subjected to internal pressure surges within the transformer. The diaphragm carries a trigger retainer which engages a trigger on an indicator shaft mounted for rotation within the housing. An indicator is mounted on the indicator shaft beneath the lens, and a bias spring is connected to the indicator shaft to bias the shaft toward rotation relative to the housing when the trigger is engaged with the trigger retainer.
