Abstract: A device for non intrusive agitation of a fluid is provided, including a container adapted to contain the fluid, at least one of the walls thereof includes a membrane and a main movable stirring means inside the container adapted to stir at least the fluid. The first flexible element is adapted to interfere mechanically with an external movable impulsion means, thus creating a deformation which has a mechanical interference with the main movable stirring means. This movement of such impulsion means is transmitted to the main movable stirring means by the interposition of the first flexible element.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for identifying in a sample molecules with the capacity to bind to the different members of a molecule library, wherein the molecules which are in the sample are fractionated based on a physicochemical property of the sample and subsequently transferred from the support in which said molecules have been separated to a second support in which the different members of the molecule library are grouped into microarrays such that they uniformly coat the surface of the support. This technique is especially interesting for the identification in a sample of glycoproteins with affinity for a lectin library as well as for the identification of compounds capable of modulating the glycosylation of proteins and for the rapid characterization of alterations in the glycosylation pattern of a sample of proteins, which can be useful in the diagnosis of diseases in which there are alterations in cell glycosylation.

Abstract: The present invention includes an apparatus that holds the probes to a solid support throughout the passages of the functionalization process, thus avoiding user-dependent breakage or damage of the fragile AFM cantilevers. The apparatus allows the tips of the AFM probes to be placed face-down, which avoids the deposition of contaminants on their functional side. The device also allows functionalizing the tips with small liquid volumes and cleaning. The present invention includes a functionalization process preventing non-specific adsorption of molecules on the tip.

Abstract: Methods for the detection/quantification of the enzymatic activity of hydrolases in a sample, wherein the hydrolase catalyses a hydrolysis reaction of a substrate which yields either H2S or a thiol-containing organic compound that produces a decomposition reaction which generates H2S, and methods for the detection/quantification of their substrates in a sample, as well as a method for the preparation of fluorescent CdS quantum dots, the preparation method, comprising first carrying out a enzymatic reaction catalysed by the hydrolase wherein the hydrolase catalyses the hydrolysis reaction of a substrate which yields either H2S or a thiol-containing organic compound that produces a decomposition reaction which generates H2S, and then reacting the resulting H2S with a salt of Cd+2, thereby fluorescent CdS quantum dots are obtained.
