    Abstract: An injectable anesthetic composition in a microemulsion phase is disclosed. The composition contains 2,6-diisopropylphenol as the active ingredient, together with polyethylene glycol 660 hydroxystearate, tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol polyethyleneglycol ether, and an aqueous medium. Methods of making and using the injectable anesthetic composition are also disclosed.
