Abstract: A wound irrigation device, comprising: a cap structure configured to engage a bottle containing an irrigation solution at a first end; a protective rim disposed about a periphery of the cap structure at a second end, wherein the protective rim is selectively disposed about or in proximity to a wound to be irrigated when in use; one or more conduits for selectively communicating a compressed gas through the cap structure and into an interior of the bottle to form a compressed irrigation solution; and a longitudinal wall structure disposed within the cap structure and defining one or more channels for selectively communicating the compressed irrigation solution through the cap structure and to the wound. The wound irrigation device further comprising a vent conduit in fluid communication with the one or more conduits for selectively venting the compressed gas through the cap structure and into the environment.

Abstract: A catheter inserter including an actuator assembly to move a catheter assembly outside a housing by engaging the catheter assembly multiple times, in an example. The inserter includes a needle assembly in a housing that has a first position with a needle extending from the housing and a second position with the needle retracted into the housing. A catheter assembly is removably positioned in the housing and includes a catheter and a hub connected to the catheter. An actuator assembly is further mounted to the housing and operates to selectively engage a guidewire assembly to move the guidewire past the needle and to selectively engage the catheter assembly to move the catheter and the hub outside the housing.

Abstract: A detachable stylet assembly for endotracheal intubation of a patient is disclosed. The stylet comprises an elongated tube defining: a longitudinal axis, a proximal end for detachably mounting the stylet to a hand grip, and a distal end for entering the trachea of the patient. The tube comprises an articulation section adjacent the distal end adapted to curve into the trachea upon actuation. An actuator housing is mounted on and adjacent to the proximal end of the tube. An actuating assembly is constructed inside the actuator housing having connection means for engaging the hand grip. A control wire is mounted within the actuator housing and connected to the actuating assembly. The control wire extends through the tube to the distal end of the tube and is adapted to curve the articulation section upon actuation. The hand grip comprises a base handle and a trigger for manual actuation of the actuator assembly. The trigger comprises finger grooves for convenient gripping.

Abstract: A dressing includes a transparent film layer having a top side, an opposite bottom side, and an insertion site viewing portion. The bottom side has an adhesive portion and an adhesive-free portion. The adhesive-free portion is disposed within the viewing portion. An antimicrobial member having a top side and an opposite bottom side is disposed in the viewing portion. A portion of the antimicrobial member is adhered to the film layer adhesive portion, and a portion of the antimicrobial member is disposed in the adhesive-free portion. The antimicrobial member includes an outer edge and an opening disposed within the outer edge. The opening is disposed in the adhesive-free portion. A catheter extending from an insertion site is receivable through the opening in the antimicrobial member. The antimicrobial member surrounds the insertion site when the dressing is applied to a patient.

Abstract: A catheter securement device in accordance with the present invention includes a flexible base member having an adhesive side and an opposite non-adhesive side. A single piece elastomeric anchoring member is mounted on the non-adhesive side of the base member. The anchoring member integrally includes a pair of opposing pull tabs, a slit disposed between the opposing pull tabs, and a third pull tab disposed between the slit and one of the opposing pull tabs. Pulling the opposing pull tabs opens the slit for receiving a catheter hub in the slit, and the third pull tab is insertable into the slit for securing the catheter hub between the anchoring member and the base member.

The first section is in communication with an inlet for materials to pass through. The second section is in communication with an exhaust. The accumulation bin is disposed below the elongated housing and has an open top section that is in communication with the elongated housing section and a second opening that is configured to mate with an opening of a baler unit.

The dressing also includes an antimicrobial member having a top side and an opposite bottom side. The antimicrobial member top side is adhered to the film layer bottom side in the insertion site viewing portion. The antimicrobial member includes at least one pair of elongated, spacedly disposed portions defining a slot therebetween. A zone of inhibition defined by the antimicrobial member covers an entire area of the slot between the member portions.

Abstract: A catheter securement device includes a planar base having an adhesive side for attaching the base to a patient and a mounting side. A receptacle adapted to nest a catheter hub therein is mounted on the mounting side of the base. The receptacle is generally U-shaped in cross-section and is open along a top surface to receive a catheter hub. The receptacle has opposite side walls and front and rear ends. An endless elastic member is retained by one side wall of the receptacle. The endless elastic member is capable of manipulation and stretching over the opening in the top surface and beyond the opposite side wall of the receptacle to retain a catheter hub nested in the receptacle. A flange extends outwardly at the top surface of the opposite side wall to keep the elastic member in place when nesting a catheter hub in the receptacle.

Abstract: A manually manipulatable tool for removing a fecal impaction, the tool is adapted for insertion into a patient's rectum to engage and penetrate the impaction. The tool is fitted with flexible, arcuately configured elements collapsible at least partially during insertion into the rectum and penetration of the fecal impaction, withdrawal of the tool deploying the elements to exert traction on the impaction thus facilitating withdrawal of at least portions of the impaction. A body member of the tool is preferably elongated and can optionally be provided with a longitudinally extending lumen for introduction of an enema solution concurrently with or independently of impaction removal.
