  • Patent number: 10862967
Abstract: This document discloses high performance data storage solutions. In an aspect, some solutions can be employed in a cloud-computing environment that provides shared storage for a plurality of customers. In other aspects, the solutions provided by some embodiments can provide multiple tiers of storage, each having a different performance level. This feature can provide a customer with the ability (e.g., through a web portal) to design its own custom storage solution that blends multiple tiers of storage at different capacity and performance levels to attain an optimal level of capacity, performance, and cost. Some disclosed solutions provide a novel arrangement of different types of storage devices that are provisioned through a common API, which can access each storage device's native management interface, as well as the host computer for which the storage will be provisioned, to allocate multiple tiers of storage to the host computer in an automated manner.

  • Patent number: 10863036
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for delivering plain old telephone service (“POTS”) telephony over high speed data networks. In particular, various embodiments provide tools and techniques for concurrent transmission of POTS voice signals and data signals over the same wire(s) of high-speed data lines or data cables. Various systems and methods might, in some instances, utilize upbanding or rebanding of the POTS voice band to a higher frequency band above the data stream band spectrum for transport of voice concurrent with data over the same wire(s) in the cable. The system might comprise interface devices at either end of a cable segment, one interface device to reband the voice signal and to combine the voice signal with the data signal for each dual-transport wire in the cable, and another interface device at the other end to separate the voice signal from the data signal.

  • Patent number: 10841175
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing model driven service state machine linkage functionality amongst different machines and/or networks. In some embodiments, a computing system of a first network associated with a first entity might establish a communication link with a node of a second network associated with a second entity. The computing system might determine whether there is a common network resource state schema between the two networks, and, if so, might identify available versions, then negotiate which version to use as common version. The computing system might retrieve network state information for the two networks, might generate a user interface that incorporates and presents the network state information for the two disparate networks consistent with the common version of the common schema, and might send the user interface to a user device of a user for display of the network state information of the two disparate networks.

  • Patent number: 10838383
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing Internet of Things (“IoT”) functionality. In some embodiments, a computing system or IoT management node might receive sensor data from one or more IoT-capable sensors, analyze the sensor data to determine one or more actions to be taken, and identify one or more devices (e.g., household devices associated with a customer premises; vehicular components associated with a vehicle; devices disposed in, on, or along a roadway; devices disposed throughout a population area; etc.) for performing the determined one or more first actions. The computing system or IoT management node then autonomously controls each of the identified one or more devices to perform tasks based on the determined one or more first actions to be taken, thereby implementing smart environment functionality (e.g., smart home, building, or customer premises functionality, smart vehicle functionality, smart roadway functionality, smart city functionality, and so on).

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing firewall functionalities, and, more particularly, to methods, systems, and apparatuses for implementing high availability (“HA”) web application firewall (“WAF”) functionalities. In various embodiments, a first computing system might monitor network communications between a client and a server providing access to software applications, and might determine whether latency has been introduced as a result of at least one first WAF container having been launched and whether any introduced latency exceeds a predetermined threshold, each first WAF container being tuned to a corresponding software application and protecting the software application from network attacks. Based on a determination that latency has been introduced and based on a determination that the introduced latency exceeds the predetermined threshold, one or more second WAF containers may be launched, each being tuned to the corresponding software application.

  • Patent number: 10832665
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing Internet of Things (“IoT”) functionality. In some embodiments, microphones of an IoT human interface device might receive user voice input. The IoT human interface device and/or a computing system might identify explicit commands in the voice input, identify first IoT-capable devices to which the explicit commands are applicable, receive sensor data from IoT sensors, and analyze the voice input in view of previous user voice inputs and in view of the sensor data to determine whether the voice input contains any implicit commands. If so, second IoT-capable devices to which an implicit command is additionally applicable might be identified, instructions based on a combination of the explicit and implicit commands may be generated and sent to the second IoT-capable devices. Instructions based only on the explicit commands are generated and sent to first IoT-capable devices to which implicit commands are not applicable.

  • Patent number: 10833997
Abstract: A system and method for adaptive congestion management uses measurements of usage of each edge network segment both per-customer and for each edge network segment as a whole. The technique then processes these measurements to determine what changes to make to allowed transfer rates to alleviate congestion. Adaptive congestion management also uses these measurements to determine when to remove any restrictions on transfer rates in the case that the edge network segment is no longer congested.

  • Patent number: 10819501
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing scaling and distribution of blockchains without ledger limitations. In various embodiments, a computing system might access many instances of a blockchain from many distributed peers. The computing system might parse a first instance of the blockchain accessible from a first distributed peer, to produce a first sample segment of a hash value of one of many blocks of the blockchain. The computing system might compare the first sample segment with a corresponding hash value portion of a second instance of the blockchain accessible from a second distributed peer, without comparing hash values of the entire first instance with those of the entire second instance. Based on a determination that the first sample segment and the corresponding hash value portion do not match, the computing system might send a notification to a user indicating that the first instance and/or second instance is invalid.

  • Patent number: 10778841
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing telephone solicitation prevention using enhanced voice over Internet protocol (“VoIP”) functionalities in conjunction with STIR/SHAKEN protocols. In various embodiments, in response to receiving a call setup message or a call request from a calling party, a call server might send a verification request to a secure telephone identity (“STI”) verification server (“VS”). The STI-VS might verify and send the call setup message to a no solicitation application server, which might instruct a media server to connect to a first gateway device and to play a no solicitation message requesting a response from the calling party, and which might verify whether the response is an appropriate response. If so, a call is established.
