  • Patent number: 10225159
Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed for providing network management and application services for a telecommunications network. In an embodiment, data associated with a network entity in the telecommunication network may be received from a provider-specific data source, and the received data may include one or more data attribute values. The telecommunications network may be represented by a network graph containing vertices and edges, and each vertex may correspond to a respective network entity having a respective entity type. The plurality of edges in the network graph connected to the first vertex may be updated based on a linking rule that specifies a relationship between network entities having respective entity types, and a walk associated with the first vertex may be identified. The identified walk may then be dynamically executed from an intermediate starting vertex to generate one or more output entities.

  • Patent number: 10200893
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing visualization of a telecommunications network topology. In an embodiment, a request is sent for data matching a search query. A response is then received at a client device that includes a data object containing a plurality of data fields and corresponding field values. These data fields and corresponding field values collectively define a plurality of communications paths in the telecommunications network. Each path describes the topological structure of network objects in the path of communication between two network objects. The received data object is then processed at the client device to generate a visual representation of each path defined in the data object. Finally, the generated visual representations are displayed at the client device in an interactive, graphical user interface.

  • Patent number: 10003492
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for managing data related to network elements in a telecommunications network. In an embodiment, a document containing data related to one or more of the network elements is received. The document is associated with a corresponding source provider, a location, a receipt timestamp indicating the time and date that the data was received, and a creation timestamp indicating the time and date that the data was created. A document class is then detected for the received document, and an intermediate representation of the document is generated that includes a plurality of key-value pairs. The intermediate representation is parsed to identify relevant values that correlate to a network model that includes a plurality of network entities representing types of network elements in the telecommunications network. Finally, the identified values are normalized according to the network model and written to a networking database.

  • Patent number: 9992082
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program embodiments are disclosed for providing graphical visualization of a telecommunications network topology. In an embodiment, raw graph data may be received that that represents one or more communications paths in the telecommunications network. The raw graph data may contain a plurality of network nodes and connections between the nodes, and each node may be associated with an entity type. A graph classification may then be determined based on the received raw graph data, and the classification may be associated with a plurality of graph rendering rules. The raw graph data may be converted to rendered graph data by determining graphical positions for each of the plurality of network nodes according to the plurality of rendering rules. In an embodiment, the rendered graph data may include the plurality of network nodes, the determined position and associated entity type of each node, and connections between nodes.

  • Patent number: 9871702
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program embodiments are disclosed for providing network management services for a telecommunications network. In an embodiment, a request may be received for a service provided by an operations support system (OSS). Data may be retrieved from a network management database based on the received request. The network management database may store a plurality of network management data, and the stored data may be correlated to a service information model that defines a plurality of base network entities used to represent the architecture of the network. An information model template may then be read by the OSS that specifies one or more provider-specific network entities that extend the base network entities defined by the service information model. The retrieved data may then be operated on by the OSS, and the resulting output may be customized based on the provider-specific network entities of the information model template.

  • Patent number: 9571334
Abstract: Networking equipment often generates alarms that operators must sift through to troubleshoot the network. The heterogeneous nature of the equipment and their associated alarms renders this task difficult. Furthermore, a network fault may trigger collateral alarms in adjacent equipment, sometimes obscuring the root cause of the fault. The present disclosure includes a system for correlating multiple successive alarms to discriminate between alarms from a faulty network object and alarms from a properly functioning network object that is dependent on the faulty network object.

  • Publication number: 20120123829
Abstract: A communications system is provided for enabling a plurality of service providers to interconnect via an Ethernet platform, the plurality of service providers employing disparate Ethernet protocols. The system includes a central server and a plurality of switching locations. Each one of the plurality of switching locations is communicatively connected to the central server and to the plurality of service providers. Each of the plurality of switching locations includes a plurality of Ethernet router switches, a monitoring device, a local server coupled to a plurality of databases. Each of the plurality of databases is associated with each of the service providers. A communications media is provided for interconnecting the plurality of switches, the service providers, the router switches, the connectivity device, and the local server.
