The bed/rack extender assembly (50) includes a pair of L-shaped space support members (60,62). Either end of the spaced support members may be connected into the accessory receivers (52) so that the extender assembly (50) may be selectively secured in one of two positions.

    Abstract: A hitch ball assembly includes a towing ball having a mounting aperture and an annular race in communication with the mounting aperture. A post includes a base, an axial bore and a plurality of openings in communication with the axial bore. A ball bearing is received in each of these openings. A plunger is axially displaceable in the post between a first position allowing the towing ball to be removed from or attached to the post and a second position for securing the towing ball to the post while allowing the towing ball to turn on the post. A spring, received in the axial bore, engages an end of the plunger and biases the plunger to the first position.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a trailer hitch receiver including a cross member, a hitch receiver box carried on the cross member and a pair of opposed mounting brackets. Each of the opposed mounting brackets includes a first mounting arrangement or series of apertures that secures the mounting brackets to the cross member in a first position and a second mounting arrangement or second set of mounting apertures for securing the mounting brackets to main frame member in a second position. Additionally, each mounting bracket includes a notch in the forward edge thereof which provides the necessary clearance for mounting the mounting brackets inboard of mounting flanges carried by the cross member. Accordingly, the mounting brackets may also be mounted in an inboard or outboard position as necessary to meet the needs of any particular application.

    Abstract: An apparatus is provided for tightening a draw bar, hitch bar or accessory mounting post in a receiver box of a trailer hitch receiver assembly. The apparatus broadly includes a body having an intermediate section with a threaded aperture and a pair of projecting mounting lugs. The apparatus also includes a threaded mounting bolt for engaging the threaded aperture in the body. The body is essentially W-shaped including a pair of shoulders on the intermediate section and a beaded tip at the end of each projecting mounting lug which securely seat and hold the tightening apparatus in the lumen of a tubular hitch bar. The threaded connecting pin is tightened in the threaded aperture in the intermediate section of the body when the hitch bar is positioned in the receiver box in order to tighten the hitch bar against the wall of the receiver box and prevent rattling.

    Abstract: A weight distributing hitch system is provided with a shank and a head which is angularly adjustable relative to the shank. The head includes a plurality of adjustment teeth which are engaged by a toothed caster having corresponding teeth. The toothed caster has a mounting hole which is offset relative to a center of the tooth configuration so as to allow the toothed caster to be rotated 180 degrees in order to allow for angular adjustment of the head relative to the shank. In addition, the head is provided with both, mounting holes for receiving round spring bars and receptor grooves on a lower surface of an upper flange for receiving a trunnion-type spring bar.
