Abstract: Systems and methods for automated retrieval of digital content from vendors upon occurrence of a 411 call event from a mobile device. In an example method, a message is sent from the mobile device based on the detected 411 call event. A server receives the sent message, compiles associated digital content based on information in the received message, and sends the digital content to the mobile device. The mobile device outputs/displays at least a portion of the received digital content to the user soon after the occurrence of the 411 call event.
Abstract: A client application on a mobile handset that identifies a short message service (SMS) messages in a 411 format and extracts the caller identification information in the SMS message. The client application presents a query on the display or keypad of the mobile handset that allows the subscriber to automatically enter the extracted caller identification information into the contacts or caller information directory on the mobile device.
Abstract: Caller name (CNAM) query results obtained from a traditional CNAM service are sent during call processing on a carrier network to the subscriber's mobile handset over a Short Message Service (SMS) channel on a mobile carrier network. A call page is received at a network carrier associated with a recipient of the received call page. A caller name (CNAM) query is performed, and the result of the performed CNAM query is sent to the recipient device before sending the call page to the recipient device. The CNAM query result is displayed on a display of the recipient device.
Abstract: A phone network in a wireless environment that does not perform CNAM queries when a number is already stored in the receiving handsets' caller directory. CNAM query fees are charged only to obtain caller information on a new caller. The network does not make CNAM queries when the caller information is already available, whether in the contact information stored on the receiver's handset or through some other reliable source.
Abstract: Systems and methods for permitting a user to select applications for trial on the mobile handset for network services and for applications installed on the handset. An example method shows trial and expiration messages to the user and automates the installation and/or deletion of the trial software according to the user's choice and the handset vendor's preference. The trial software is launched, and the trial commenced, based on an autonomous trigger, such as an incoming call or activation of the handset, rather than requiring the user to manually launch the trial application.
Abstract: An improved decoding and processing system is provided for advanced determination and display of geographic information to a called party relating to the call origination party. The improved system comprises a receiving means to receive the calling number delivery (CND) message from a local central office (CO) switch or mobile station switching center; a microcontroller storage and retrieval device containing a data base library for selectively determining the corresponding geographic information such as city and/or state by matching the area code and/or local exchange number received from the call origination party; and a readout device for displaying the city and/or state of the incoming call. Preferably, the system includes capability to automatically update the data base library of the storage and retrieval device as new area codes and/or local exchanges are subsequently assigned.
Abstract: An improved decoding, processing and delivery system in a PBX for the advanced determination and display of geographic information to a called party relating to the call origination party. The improved system comprises a receiving device to receive the calling number delivery (CND) message from a switching center; a central database server at the PBX for storage and retrieval of specific data from a library for selectively determining the corresponding geographic information of the call origination party; a transmission device for sending data from the server over the station-telephone connectivity plane; a receiving device in a telephone; and a readout device for displaying the geographic information of the incoming call. Accordingly, the improved system provides the user with convenient and efficient display of geographic information related to caller identification that is capable of determining an ever-increasing number of area code and local telephone exchange number.

Abstract: An improved decoding and processing system is provided for advanced determination and display of geographic information to a called party relating to the call origination party. The improved system comprises a receiving device to receive an MDMF or SDMF format message from a local CO switch containing call identification data; a microcontroller storage and retrieval device containing a data base library for selectively determining the corresponding geographic information such as city and/or state by matching the area code and/or local exchange number received from the call origination party; and a readout device for displaying the city and/or state of the incoming call.
