Adjacent the tube is a column of rotatably mounted bi-colored cylinders, some of which show one color and the rest another when viewed from one direction, to indicate the level of the liquid. In accordance with the invention, the permanent magnetic dipole is automatically orientated by the magnets in bi-colored cylinders as it is mounted rotatably about a vertical axis.
