    Abstract: A cleaning device for cleaning a marine element towed in water and related methods are provided. The cleaning device is configured to follow a bypass rail attached to the marine element when an obstacle is encountered along the marine element. Thus, the cleaning device passes the entire marine element, from one end to the other, irrespective of the nature of the obstacle. The cleaning device includes a cleaning unit for cleaning the marine element.
