  • Patent number: 11333117
Abstract: A fluid filter assembly is adapted to filter out contaminants from a fluid supply. The filter assembly includes a housing that is adapted to house a cylindrical filter element. The housing includes a lower housing and an upper housing. A top plate is secured to the upper filter housing. Both the top plate and upper filter housing include seals that are adapted to seal the filter. The filter includes threads formed on an exterior surface of the upper housing to allow the filter to be coupled to a filter mount. Dirty fuel enters the filter through the top plate by use of a plurality of openings formed in the top plate, passes through media of the filter element, and exits through a center opening formed in the top plate.

  • Patent number: 11331602
Abstract: A filter for filtering contaminants from a fluid. The filter includes a cylinder of pleated filter media, a first end cap coupled to a first end of the filter media and a second end cap coupled to a second end of the filter media. The second end cap including a wall formed to include a central opening. The filter also includes a central core positioned radially inward of filter media and extends from the first end cap to the second end cap. The central core has a cylindrical side wall that is formed to include a plurality of apertures that are adapted to allow for the passage of the fluid. The filter also includes an annular collar that is adapted to be positioned within the central core. The annular collar is adapted to be rotatable with respect to the central core and includes a sidewall formed to include a series of space projections that extend radially inwardly from the sidewall.

  • Patent number: 11117079
Abstract: An air filter includes a frame member and a deep-pleated media pack positioned within the frame member of the air filter. The frame member includes a gasket positioned around the perimeter of the frame member. The air filter is configured to permit air to enter from one end and pass through the filter media to a second end whereby particulate is removed from the airstream.

  • Patent number: 7175761
Abstract: A filter assembly has a housing open at one end, with an annular filter media/core assembly disposed in the housing. An end plate having at least two inlet openings and an outlet opening is disposed in the open end of the housing. The end plate is affixed to a lid which is secured to the end of the housing. A combination valve is retained between the filter media/core assembly and the end plate. The combination valve has a first portion that cooperates with the first inlet opening in the end plate and a second portion cooperating with the second inlet opening. In use fluid will pass through the first inlet opening, the filter media/core assembly and be discharged from the housing through the outlet opening.

  • Patent number: 6926827
Abstract: A fuel dispenser filter for filtering fuel is adapted to be connected to a support in a fuel distribution system. The filter comprises a housing including an adaptor constructed and arranged to be secured to the support and a bowl operatively connected to the adaptor. A stud/spacer is secured in the adaptor. The stud/spacer defines a centrally disposed outlet flow passage and outwardly disposed inlet flow passages. A sleeve member is movably supported in the adaptor between the stud/spacer and the adaptor. The sleeve member is constructed and arranged to open and close the fuel flow through the inlet flow passages. A filter assembly including filter media is provided in the bowl for filtering the fuel passing through the filter. When the bowl is firmly engaged with the adaptor, the sleeve member is moved to open position to permit the flow of fuel through the filter and when the bowl is removed from the adaptor, the sleeve member is moved to a closed position to stop the flow of fuel.

  • Patent number: 6645373
Abstract: The dual element water sensing fuel dispenser filter comprises a housing with an open end. An end plate is positioned in the open end. Contained within the housing is a filter element assembly that includes a first filter portion and a second filter portion. The first filter portion is formed from an annular pleated paper filter media comprised of two layers with a water sensing chemical therebetween. Disposed within the pleated paper filter media are a pair of generally concentric perforate cores containing a chemical fill therebetween. The pleated paper filter media will remove particulate matter from the fuel, whether the fuel be gasoline or an alcohol-gasoline blended fuel. The water sensing chemical in the pleated paper filter media will sense and remove water from the gasoline fuel. The chemical fill will sense the phase separation in the alcohol-gasoline blended fuel and will swell and gell to preclude water from passing through the filter.

  • Patent number: 6585887
Abstract: An oil filter includes a housing 14 having an end plate 20 attached to the open end thereof. The end plate 20 includes an outlet opening and inlet openings 22. An anti-drainback valve 49 is provided adjacent the end plate. A filter element having an end cap at each end is positioned within the housing. The end cap 50 remote from the end plate includes a plurality of openings 52 spaced from a closed central portion 51. A spring valve 60 cooperates with the end cap 50 and the interior wall of the housing to alternately allow and disallow oil flow through the end cap openings depending upon the differential pressure across the end cap 50. The spring valve 60 and the end cap 50 can be operationally interengage to provide a relatively flat profile. Depressions 72 (FIG. 5) may be included between the arms 62 of the spring valve to provide a flow path should the spring valve be flattened against the housing during operation of the filter.

  • Patent number: 6544412
Abstract: A thermal sensitive material 61 is disposed between a spring valve 60 and an end cap 50 of an oil filter (FIG. 1). Upon reaching a predetermined pressure, e.g. when the media of the oil filter becomes clogged, an opening 52 in the end cap opens to allow the oil to bypass the filter media. However, the thermal sensitive material precludes bypass flow through the end cap (e.g. during initial operation of the engine when a pressure surge may occur) until a predetermined oil temperature is attained.
