Abstract: The wiper arm assembly according to the invention comprises a mounting head (1) rigidly secured to a drive shaft (A-B), a channel (2) rotatably connected to the mounting head (1), spring means (4) capable of biasing the channel (2) towards the surface to be wiped, a sliding element (9) located inside the channel (2) and provided with an arm extension (3) for attaching thereto (3a) a wiper blade (not shown), and a rod (12) articulated at one of its ends (11)to the sliding element (9) and, at the other of its ends (11a), to the vehicle body (14) at a certain distance from the drive shaft (A-B). When the channel (2) is oscillating about the drive shaft (A-B) said rod (12) imports a back and forth movement to the sliding element (9) and thus to the arm extension (3) and to the wiper blade (not shown). Solid anti-friction means are provided between the sliding element (9) and the channel (2). The solid anti-friction means may consist of a plastic sheath (13), or of a ball bearing, or of a roller bearing, etc.

Abstract: The invention relates to a simplified wiper arm for motor vehicles. It comprises only a channel (1), an arm extension (2), a mounting head (3), a helical spring (4) and a rivet (5) acting as articulation means between the channel (1) and the mounting head (3). The mounting head (3) is secured to the drive shaft (7) in the area (6) located betweewn the arm extension (2) and the helical spring (4). The geometrical axis of the helical spring (4) extends substantially perpendicularly to the geometrical axis of the drive shaft (7). One of the extremities (4b) of the helical spring (4) exerts a pressure or load on the channel (1) and on the arm extension (2) via a protruding tongue (1a') provided on the channel (1).

Abstract: An improved steering lock is disclosed. It is of the type comprising a rotatable lock cylinder, a latch operable in a first position and inoperable in a second position to engage a recess in a steering shaft of an associated motor vehicle, and a rocking lever operable in a first position and inoperable in a second position to maintain the latch in its second position. During rotation of the lock cylinder in one direction, the latch is caused to move from its first position towards its second position. When the latch reaches its second position, a projection on the rocking lever engages a recess in the latch whereby it is maintained in its second position and the steering shaft is maintained in an unlocked condition. The steering lock includes means mounting the rocking lever for rotation in two different planes. The rocking lever is mounted for rotation in a first plane about an axle and, in a second plane, about one of its ends.

Abstract: A modified wiper blade and connector provide an improved connection between a wiper arm and a wiper blade. The wiper blade has a pair of spaced openings in the web of the blade, which openings are separated by a flat portion extending between the side walls of the blade. The connector has structure for fixedly connecting the connector to the flat portion of the blade whereby the arm will be permitted to pivot relative to the connector. Different elements are provided for maintaining the connector to the blade and for maintaining the arm to the connector.

Abstract: A connector is provided between a wiper arm and a wiper blade. The connector includes aligned openings in the parallel walls of the wiper blade with extensions of the opening extending radially outward from the center of the opening. The connector also includes on the wiper arm a transverse member of a diameter slightly smaller than the diameter of the aligned openings in the blade. A pair of opposed stops extend radially outward from the transverse member with the stops being oriented to align with the extensions on the openings in the blade when the arm and blade are in any position other than the wiping position on the windshield. After the transverse member passes through the openings and the stops pass through the opening closest to the arms, the blade is rotated relative to the arm to secure the arm on the blade ready for wiping the windshield.

Abstract: A windshield wiper blade is disclosed and, in particular, a plastic wiper blade having a main bridge and two secondary yokes pivotally linked to the end portions of the main bridge. Each of the secondary yokes are provided with an aperture wherein extends a transverse pivot. The main bridge is provided at each of its two end portions with a fork, the limbs of which extend substantially in the prolongation of the main bridge and define a seat for said transverse pivot of each secondary yoke. The wiper blades are, for example, used on motor vehicles.

Abstract: An improved key-operated steering shaft locking device for a motor vehicle is disclosed. The device comprises a rotatable lock cylinder, a spring, and a latch movable between steering shaft locking and unlocking positions, the latch being operatively associated with the cylinder so that rotation of the latter causes axial movement of the former perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the cylinder from the locked to the unlocked position; the latch is also operatively associated so that the spring urges the latch toward the locked position. The improved device further comprises means including a rocker arm pinned for rotational movement between a first position wherein a portion of the arm extends into the key slot of the cylinder and the means is ineffective to lock the latch in the position where the shaft is unlocked, and a second position wherein the arm does not extend into the key slot and the means is effective to lock the latch in the position where the shaft is unlocked.
