Abstract: Described are methods and compositions for treating a subterranean formation. The method comprising introducing into the subterranean formation via a well-bore a diverter composition, the diverter composition comprising a combination of at least one deformable particle and at least one non-deformable particle; and allowing the diverter composition to block the flow of at least a portion of a treatment fluid from a first location within the well-bore to a second location.

Abstract: Disclosed are compositions including up to 20 wt % of a paraffin inhibiting polymer and one or more non-polymeric glycol ether compounds, wherein the compositions are stable and flow at a temperature between about 0° C. and ?40° C., in many cases between about ?20° C. and ?40° C. The glycol ether compounds are non-polymeric, are liquids at 20° C. (1 atm) and have boiling points over 100° C., in many cases over 200° C. The compositions are useful paraffin inhibitor concentrates for use in the petroleum industry wherein the concentrates are stable, pumpable, and pourable at temperatures as low as ?40° C. and as high as 60° C.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are phosphoester anticorrosion compositions comprising an adduct of an alkylphenol ethoxylate phosphate ester with 1,3,5,7-tetraazaadamantane. The adducts are storage stable neat or in a solvent. The adducts are suitably added at about 0.5 ppm to 500 ppm by weight or by volume to a water source comprising one or more corrodents to inhibit corrosion of metal surfaces contacting the water source. The phosphoester anticorrosion compositions are as effective or more effective at inhibiting corrosion than conventional sulfur-based corrosion inhibitors when compared on a weight or volume basis.
Abstract: A coated particulate composition includes a vitreous polyphosphate glass particulate and a coating on at least a portion of the surface of the particulate, the coating comprising a water-insoluble polymer or a water-insoluble particulate, wherein the coating weight is about 0.01 wt % to 90 wt % of the mass of the coated particulate. The particulates provide long-term scale inhibition downhole in subterranean reservoirs where temperatures exceed 70° C.

Abstract: A method for increasing the retention of a scale inhibitor within a hydrocarbon producing system is provided. The method includes, the steps of: (i) pre-flushing the system with a liquid; (ii) treating the system with a scale inhibitor; and (iii) over-flushing the system with a composition comprising an ionic polymer and a liquid carrier. The concentration of the ionic polymer in the composition is 5 to 50% wt.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are sulfur-functional corrosion inhibitors that are adducts of a cyclic anhydride with 2-mercaptoethanol. Concentrates of the sulfur-functional corrosion inhibitors do not degrade to form H2S under standard storage conditions for a period of up to 5 years. Also disclosed herein are treated water sources and treated metal containments including one or more sulfur-functional corrosion inhibitors. The sulfur-functional corrosion inhibitors inhibit corrosion of metal containments contacted with one or more water sources, wherein the one or more water sources comprise one or more corrodents. The sulfur-functional corrosion inhibitors are as effective or more effective at inhibiting corrosion than conventional sulfur-based corrosion inhibitors when compared on a weight or a volume basis.
Abstract: Disclosed are inhibitor/cleaner compositions comprising alkyldiphenyloxide disulfonates, and methods of inhibiting corrosion of and removing schmoo from metal containments in contact with corrosive water sources. Also disclosed are metal containment assemblages comprising inhibitor/cleaner compositions and metal containment therefore. The alkyldiphenyloxide disulfonates are soluble or substantially soluble in the water sources and inhibit corrosion of the metal containments by the water sources containing corrodents. The alkyldiphenyloxide disulfonates also remove schmoo from the metal containments. The inhibitor/cleaners of the invention are useful for addition to produced waters and other corrosive water sources resulting from enhanced oil recovery operations.
