  • Patent number: 11255080
Abstract: A closet flange for use in installation of a toilet in relation to a waste pipe. The closet flange comprises a body formed of polymeric material, the body including a tubular portion having a proximal end and a distal end and a flange portion located at the proximal end of the tubular portion. The flange portion extends radially outward with respect to the tubular portion of the body, the flange portion defining an inner periphery forming a drain opening aligned with an interior of the tubular portion and further defining an outer periphery. The flange portion also defines a plurality of fastener openings therethrough for use in securing the closet flange to a mounting surface. A seal membrane is removably attached to the flange portion so as to cover the drain opening in a water-tight manner.

  • Patent number: 11149426
Abstract: A toilet assembly comprises a mounting surface defining an opening in which a waste pipe is located. The waste pipe has an end at a location no higher than flush with the mounting surface. A toilet having a drain aligned with the waste pipe is also provided. A ring gasket (e.g., a wax seal) has at least a portion situated around the drain of the toilet. A closet flange has a tubular portion having a proximal end and a distal end and a flange portion located at the proximal end of the tubular portion. The flange portion is connected to the mounting surface. The end of the waste pipe is received in the tubular portion of the closet flange such that an outer surface of the waste pipe is adjacent to an inner surface of the tubular portion. A seal ring is disposed between the inner surface of the tubular portion and the outer surface of the waste pipe.

  • Patent number: 9568127
Abstract: A mechanical coupling between a straight pipe end and a socket fitting comprises a seal ring and a locking ring disposed within the interior of the socket. The locking ring has a generally frustoconical shape with a plurality of corrugations extending circumferentially thereabout, the corrugations presenting inner edge portions engaging the outer annular surface of the pipe end and outer edge portions engaging the interior annular surface of the socket for opposing withdrawal of the pipe end axially outwardly from the socket. In an advantageous embodiment, the locking ring is assembled with a support disk to optimally orient the locking ring with respect to the fitting and the pipe end.

  • Patent number: 8172275
Abstract: A pipe fitting includes a main polymeric body and a secondary polymeric body, of a different polymeric material, molded into and fixedly connected to the main body, so that the main body extends around the polymeric body. The secondary polymeric body extends around and is contiguous with a passageway of the pipe fitting, and at least partially defines a first opening of the passageway that is for being mated to a polymeric pipe. The main body extends around and is contiguous with the passageway, and at least partially defines a second opening of the passageway that is for being mated to a metallic pipe.

  • Publication number: 20110049874
Abstract: A polymeric pipe fitting assembly for joinder with a polymeric pipe section without using adhesives or other chemicals comprises a polymeric fitting and an elastomeric gasket formed as a unit, preferably by molding. The fitting has a main body portion with a pipe-receiving socket portion at one end. The gasket has a first axial portion molded in intimate sealed surface engagement interiorly within the socket portion and a second integral axial portion projecting axially from the socket portion. The axial portions of the gasket form a continuous interior wall surface for receiving a polymeric pipe section in peripheral surface contact with an exterior surface of the pipe section. The second axial portion of the gasket is encircled by a mechanical clamping device for sealing the gasket against the exterior of the pipe section.

  • Patent number: 4352652
Abstract: The internal core of a molding apparatus does not have to be axially moved for molding a plastic pipe provided with a peripheral groove therein. This is accomplished by providing the internal core with a groove of such narrow width as to always be open to the surrounding cooperating mold body while at the same time preventing plastic material from entering the groove as the plastic material is being introduced into the mold cavity.

  • Patent number: 4184834
Abstract: An injection molding apparatus, including a mold having a mold cavity therein defining the outer periphery of a pipe fitting, has a core pin assembly adapted to be positioned in the cavity and which comprises opposing distal core sections whose proximal ends abut an intermediate core section therebetween. The core sections are mutually separable and have passages for accommodating a fluid coolant therein, and when the core sections are assembled, at least certain passages in either or both distal core sections are in fluid intercommunicating relation with passages in the intermediate core section.
