Abstract: System and method for establishing a virtual access point (vAP) is described. A wireless network includes a router to provide access to external networks, physical access points (pAPs) to provide radio communications access to a user device, and a controller to form a vPA by layer two link aggregating the pAPs using access point and configuration information and send a virtual service set identifier (vSSID) to the pAPs. The vAP having a layer two data plane and control plane. The vAP provides a wireless coverage area equivalent to the pAPs using the vSSID, enable a user device to connect to the data plane via a data link, connect to the control place via layer two control links, and radio frequency connect to the pAPs. The controller and the pAPs configured to manage user data traffic flow between the router and the user device via the control and the data planes.

Abstract: Delivering pre-rendered holographic content over a network is disclosed. A first camera view segment of a plurality of camera view segments that compose a holographic video is selected. Each camera view segment corresponds to a different camera view perspective of a scene and includes rendered holographic content that depicts a plurality of concurrent different viewer perspectives of the scene. The first camera view segment is streamed toward a holographic display for presentation of the first camera view segment on the holographic display.

Abstract: According to one configuration, a wireless network is shared amongst a hierarchal tier of users. The wireless network environment includes one or more allocation management resources (such as so-called spectrum access systems). Each of one or more wireless network service providers operating respective wireless equipment such as one or more wireless base stations relies on a respective allocation management resource to allocate wireless channels for use. If desired, a respective wireless network service provider operating respective equipment can select an appropriate channel notification mode suitable to provide notification of incumbent use and/or reassignment of wireless bandwidth to the wireless base stations. In such an instance, in the event of re-assignment due to incumbent use, the allocation management resources communicate amongst each other regarding the incumbent use/reassignment and provide protected use of newly assigned wireless bandwidth to the first wireless network service provider.

Abstract: Real-time gunshot detection and reporting. A computing device detects, in an audio signal received by an audio receiver that includes a plurality of audio receiving elements, at least one gunshot. The computing device determines, based on the plurality of audio receiving elements, an audio location of the at least one gunshot. The computing device sends control signals to at least two cameras to cause the at least two cameras to capture at least two corresponding images of the audio location. The computing device, based on the at least two corresponding images, identifies a gunshot location and transmits a gunshot location identifier that identifies the gunshot location to a destination.

Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for reducing delay while providing secure communications between nodes. An exemplary method embodiment includes a first node performing the steps of: identifying packets corresponding to a first communications session, the first communications session corresponding to a first application type; segmenting at least a first packet corresponding to the first communications session into at least a first packet portion and a second packet portion, the first packet including a first packet header and a first packet payload, the first packet portion including at least a portion of the first packet header, the second packet portion including at least a portion of the first packet payload; communicating, in encrypted form, the first packet portion from the first node to a security function node; and communicating, in unencrypted form, the second packet portion from the first node to the security function node.

Abstract: A network includes a centralized power and signal distribution device deployed at a communication closet at a site. The centralized device includes a switch controller connected to a direct current power supply. The network includes at least one customer premises termination device connected to the switch controller, an access apparatus deployed at each of the multiple customer premises, and a power over cable system to carry power and signals. Each access apparatus connected to the at least one customer premises termination device and to provide access to user devices. The switch controller power cycles at least one of the switch controller, the at least one customer premises termination device, or applicable access apparatus in response to a power cycle command from a controller when at least one of the switch controller, the at least one customer premises termination device, or any access apparatus fail to transmit a status signal.

Abstract: A network environment includes a communication management resource in communication with customer premises equipment through a wireless base station. The communication management resource (such as a spectrum access system) receives a request for allocation of a wireless channel from customer premises equipment. The request is generated via the customer premises equipment and communicated through the wireless base station to the communication management resource. In addition to receiving the allocation request from the customer premises equipment, the communication management resource receives channel selection information from the wireless base station. Via the channel selection information, the wireless base station suggests/selects a wireless channel to assign for use by the customer premises equipment.

Abstract: According to one configuration, a system comprising: a first SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) device; a second SIM device; and user equipment in which the first SIM device and the second SIM device are installed. The user equipment is operable to: access first subscriber identity information stored in the first SIM device, the first subscriber identity information providing the user equipment access to a first wireless network in a network environment; access second subscriber identity information stored in the second SIM device, the second subscriber identity information providing the user equipment access to a second wireless network in the network environment; and via analysis of configuration settings in the second subscriber identity information, detect that the second network is assigned to support non-voice wireless communications between the user equipment and a remote network.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods related to on-boarding software applications on a platform used in a content delivery and/or service provider network. In one embodiment, a centralized platform such as a premises gateway is provided to act as an application portal or store for all consumer devices that connects to a service provider network. In one variant, a software architecture is provided for the gateway which includes at least one of an open-sourced OS (e.g., OpenWrt) and containerization engine (e.g., Docker) which enables a broader range of application compatibility with the gateway itself and end user devices within the premises by abstracting the services and functions above the specific hardware/firmware configurations of each of the end user devices.

Abstract: Various embodiments comprise systems, methods, architectures, mechanisms and apparatus for creating coverage zones (CZs) at a Citizens Broadband Radio Service Device (CBSD) nodes where each CZ is defined by a respective Physical layer Cell Identity (PCI), and each CZ is allocated a respective time slot having a duration selected in accordance with a type of wireless device (WD) to be supported by the CZ, and each CZ communicates during its respective time slot via some or all of the antennas or antenna sections (e.g., coverage areas or sections S1-S3) of the node such that the node communicates with different types of WD in a time-interleaved manner via some or all of the coverage areas associated with the node.

Abstract: It is determined that a first customer premises equipment (CPE) that provides external network access to a first local area network and that is communicatively coupled to a first aggregation device is to be dynamically provisioned with a first differentiated feature that is different from default features identified in a first boot configuration from which the first CPE obtains features during a boot phase of the first CPE. A first aggregation driver process that corresponds to the first aggregation device is identified. A request to implement the first differentiated feature on the first aggregation device is sent to the first aggregation driver process.

Abstract: The presentation invention relates to methods and apparatus for managing cable network power consumption. An exemplary method in accordance with one embodiment includes the steps of: receiving a message by a cable modem instructing the cable modem to reduce power consumption; increasing, by the cable modem, a buffer size of at least one of: (i) a cable modem downlink buffer included in the cable modem, or (ii) a cable modem uplink buffer included in the cable modem in response to receiving the message; and switching, by the cable modem, from a first mode of operation to a second mode of operation after performing one or both of: (i) transmitting uplink data to the cable modem termination system, and (ii) transmitting downlink data to a wireless base station, said second mode of operation being a power savings modem of operation.

Abstract: Systems, methods, architectures, mechanisms or apparatus for streaming content toward client devices, comprising a content delivery system configured to automatically ingest content asset packages and publish identifying data associated with content assets encrypted and stored therein at a content delivery network (CDN), a virtualized Digital Rights Management (DRM) platform configured to provide content encryption keys to the content delivery system and to authorized client devices, and a virtualized services platform configured to interact with client devices to authenticate client devices, receive client device content requests, and cause the CDN to transmit requested content to an authorized client device.

Abstract: A mapping engine is configured to rearrange a configuration of data on a plurality of data channels. Each of a set of upstream filters is configured to pass one or more selected input radio frequency signals. An input of each of a set of upstream demodulators is configurable to be coupled to a selected one of the upstream filters and an output of each upstream demodulator is coupled to the mapping engine. An input of each of a set of upstream modulators is coupled to the mapping engine. An upstream aggregator comprises one or more inputs and is configured to aggregate a plurality of upstream-bound radio frequency signals, each input being configurable to be coupled to at least one selected upstream filter of the set of upstream filters and a selected upstream modulator.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for supporting communication, discovery, and use of time division duplex (TDD) configuration information between nearby cells are described. A first base station requests a UE to collect and report back TDD configuration information about another base station, e.g., a neighboring base station, from which the UE receives signals, e.g., broadcast signals above a predetermined signal strength threshold. In some embodiments, the requests are qualified based on one of more of: i) inter or intra operator network, ii) radio access technology (RAT) in use, or iii) frequency band. The first base station utilizes reports, communicating TDD configuration information pertaining to nearby base stations, obtained from one or more UEs, to manage interference, e.g., changing the first base station's current TDD configuration settings, generating a new first base station TDD configuration, and/or deciding whether or not to use a frequency band of shared and/or unlicensed spectrum or licensed spectrum.

Abstract: Systems and network devices configured for client-side domain name system (DNS) prioritization using time zone offset to select from configured list of DNS servers. A UE device (DNS client) may determine its current time zone, and query a locally stored domain name system (DNS) server list to select a regional DNS server based on its current time zone. The UE device may send DNS requests for resource addresses to the selected regional DNS server. In response, the UE device may receive DNS response messages that priorities resource addresses based on their geographic proximity to the current time zone of the UE device.

Abstract: In certain embodiments, a (e.g., 5G) wireless network has a (e.g., CBSD) base station and any suitable number of instances of user equipment (UE). For each group of one or more UEs, one of the UEs is designated as a primary UE that stores UE context information for the other (secondary) UEs in the UE group. To connect to a secondary UE, the base station can retrieve the UE context information from the secondary UE's associated primary UE without having to retrieve the secondary UE's context information from the core network, thereby reducing backbone bandwidth usage and delays in connecting the secondary UE, especially when many secondary UE request connections within a short time interval.

Abstract: A wireless network environment includes a communication management resource that manages allocation of wireless channels in a network environment. The communication management resource assigns a first wireless channel for use by first wireless communication equipment in a network environment. In response to receiving a request to swap the first wireless channel for a different wireless channel, the communication management resource allocates a second wireless channel as a swap for the first wireless channel. In furtherance of the swap, the communication management resource then notifies the first wireless communication equipment to use the second wireless channel as a substitute to the first wireless channel.

Abstract: A camera of a virtual reality (VR) headset captures a plurality of images of a reflection of a user in a mirror. The plurality of images include at least a first image of a reflection of the user in a first position with respect to the mirror and a second image of a reflection of the user in a second position with respect to the mirror. A three-dimensional avatar is generated based on the plurality of images captured by the camera.

Abstract: A system and method for providing real-time router telemetry data to a customer. The system includes a response cache and a processor. The processor pulls, in response to a request from a management application, telemetry data from a device for all features identified for a customer starting an active session on the management application. The processor sends the telemetry data to the management application for display, stores the telemetry data in the response cache, and initiates a subscription process for each identified feature. Each subscription process listens for changes in telemetry data for an associated identified feature and pushes detected changes in the telemetry data to the response cache. The processor sends, in response to a request from the management application for a customer selected identified feature, real-time updates to telemetry data associated with the customer selected identified feature from the response cache to the management application.
