    Abstract: A method for collecting metals from a solution, in which method solid insoluble or sparingly soluble bisphoshonate of formula I is mixed with the solution, whereby metals possibly present in the solution react with the bisphosphonate, and the bisphosphonate together with the metals reacted with it is separated from the solution. The method can be used for collecting metals e.g. from waste water or from household water.
