  • Patent number: 4706531
Abstract: Device for cutting band-shaped or strand-shaped material, having a cutting device in the form of a cutter roller, in which outwardly-pointing cutting edges which are arranged at a uniform distance from one another connect two circular disc-shaped or annular bodies to one another, which bodies hold the cutting edges, and the material to be cut via these cutting edges forms a lap superimposed in several coil layers, the radial innermost position of which lap is cut by the pressure which acts in intensified manner as a result of a loading body. The cutter blades, the cutting edges of which cut the material, are arranged for reducing the bending stress in such a way that they are at a setting angle alpha of 5.degree. to 25.degree. to the radial direction of the device, with the cutting edges pointing in the direction of movement of the cutter roller.

  • Patent number: 4640356
Abstract: A process for the enhanced oil recovery of underground mineral oil deposits, in which one or more substances which are scarcely water- and oil-soluble at deposit temperature but are well soluble or volatile in the hot flooding medium and whose melting point lies above the deposit temperature, are added to the flooding medium hot water and/or steam. They move with the hot flooding medium through the deposit and precipitate as a solid preferably at that part of the temperature front which is advancing fastest, thereby constricting the pores of the deposit temporarily and reversibly, until the solid is dissolved or evaporated again by repeated flow of the hot flooding medium, which has the overall effect of an areal and vertical equalization of the temperature front.

  • Patent number: 4587895
Abstract: Radial compression of a cylindrical body made of compressible material, is achieved by axially leading the body through a rotationally symmetrical space, which tapers in the transport direction and whose smallest diameter is smaller than that of the body to be compressed, the envelope of the rotationally symmetrical body being generated by roller shaped bodies which rotate in the same direction and cross the axis of rotation of the space at an angle of between 5.degree. and 45.degree. but do not intersect it. During such passage, the body performs a helical movement relative to the envelope of the rotationally symmetrical space and is compressed, the compression being made permanent by wrapping at the narrowest point of the space.

  • Patent number: 4562869
Abstract: Heat-sterilizable blanket which has good thermal insulation properties, which is particularly suitable for use in hospitals, old people's homes and hostel institutions, and which comprises a regularly interlaced double cloth into which a wadding pick is additionally incorporated in piquelike fashion and floats over wide stretches. The upper and lower warps and upper and lower wefts of this blanket comprise plain-woven high-twist cellulosic fiber yarns, while the wadding pick is made of a low-twist synthetic fiber yarn having a linear density of 100-1,000 tex. The blanket is shrunk to its final dimensions by washing and drying at temperatures of 100.degree. to 135.degree. C., which at the same time bulks up the blanket and increases its pore volume.
