Abstract: An improved low cost electrical switch has a two-piece housing comprising a base and an escutcheon. The escutcheon includes a frame and a face plate which is flexible, resilient and insulative. Application of downward finger pressure on the face plate causes the face plate to deform, thereby urging a snap action dome into a shorting position across a pair of electrical contacts.
Abstract: A panel mounted switch consisting of two complementary side sections housing the switch components that include a plunger-type actuator carrying two movable switch blades and a series of fixed terminals. The switch blades being yieldably connected to the actuator whereby they are free to rock about their longitudinal axis upon engagement with certain of said fixed terminals, thereby achieving a self-cleaning, wiping switching contact.
Abstract: A motor energizing control and reversing circuit designed to be used on a power seat control in vehicles. The circuit includes a reversible motor that primarily drives suitable gear trains which effect seat movement in a plurality of directions and then momentarily reverses the motor so as to apply moving power to the gear train in an opposite direction to relieve pressure thereon and prevent a locked rotor condition in which the seat could not be moved.
Abstract: A boot seal assembly for external movable members such as switch actuators. The assembly includes a cooperating structural support that provides a guide for the movable member as well as a retaining seat for a fixed portion of the boot seal. The movable member provides a retaining means for the remaining collapsible portion of the boot seal without affecting the direction of travel or required operating force for the movable member.
Abstract: A push-button rotary switch having a switching mechanism including a pair of independent actuators having linear movement into contact with the teeth of a switch position selector ratchet wheel mounted at the center of a rotatable switch-positioning indicator, with the actuators adapted to alternately engage certain of the ratchet teeth so as to rotate the switch-positioning indicator step by step in either direction into different switching positions.
