Abstract: Organic chick pea extracts are phytoestrogens, if present in an amount such as to provide an estrogenic activity equivalent to at least 1 nM of estradiol. Cosmetic compositions containing organic chick pea extracts are useful in improving the appearance of wrinkled, lined, dry, flaky, aged or photodamaged skin and improving skin thickness, elasticity, flexibility and plumpness.

Abstract: A method for a skin treatment regime and a respective product is provided which cosmetically improves human skin. The product includes a first composition containing at least one active and functioning to impart a first benefit to the skin. A second composition is provided which includes a second different active and imparts a second benefit to the skin. The first and second compositions are stored in respective separate containers, which nevertheless are joined together for reminding a consumer to use the compositions in tandem and to facilitate in one sale all necessary elements of a suggested regime. The antiplaque agents are complexes of divalent copper, zinc, iron or tin, or trivalent iron with a specific class of cyclic &agr;-hydroxyketones. A typical example is the copper (II)-ethylmaltol complex. These complexes are more active antiplaque agents that e.g. copper-hinokitiol complexes.

Abstract: Resveratrol, a component of a variety of common edible plants, including peanuts and red grapes, is a phytoestrogen. Resveratrol inhibits proliferation of skin epidermal cells (keratinocytes) and stimulates their differentiation. Resveratrol was also found to inhibit melanin production by skin cells and to alleviate skin irritation that may be caused by alpha-hydroxy acids. Resveratrol is useful in improving the appearance of wrinkled, lined, dry, flaky, aged or photodamaged skin and improving skin thickness, elasticity, flexibility, radiance, glow and plumpness.

The first and second compositions are separated from one another prior to use. When combined upon application to the teeth, the first and second compositions form a system for inhibiting tartar around the teeth.

Abstract: A wiping article is provided which includes an effervescent cleanser composition held within a pouch formed from a first and second substrate sheet. At least one of the substrate sheets must be water permeable. The effervescent composition is an intimate mixture of an acid material such as citric acid and an alkaline material such as sodium bicarbonate. Water contact causes the combination to effervesce. A dry surfactant such as sodium cocoyl isethionate in contact with the water and effervescing carbon dioxide results in a highly pleasant sudsing system. Skin benefit agents may be included within the composition. The effervescent action may improve deposition of the skin benefit agents onto the skin.

Abstract: A cosmetic product is provided for removing keratotic skin plugs. The product includes a flexible non-occlusive substrate sheet onto which a composition containing an anionic or nonionic polymer is deposited. The composition is treated to become dry non-tacky to the touch yet upon being wetted for use the composition again turns tacky and mobile. The method of application involves either directly moistening the product or indirectly moistening by first wetting a consumer's face in an area where the product is applied. Thereafter, water is allowed to evaporate leaving a film to which the keratotic plugs are bonded. The film is then peeled away concommittingly removing the plugs.

Abstract: The present invention relates to oral care compositions with an improved teeth whitening effect. This effect is achieved by inclusion in the oral care compositions of certain organic peroxy compounds as teeth whitening/bleaching agents, particularly peroxyamidophthalamides, sulphoperbenzoic acid, monoperoxyphthalic acid, and (per)acetylatedperboric acid with imine quaternary salts as catalysts for the peroxy compounds.

Abstract: A cosmetic product, particularly for the eye, is provided which includes a container, an absorbent pad with printing on at least one major surface, and a fluid cosmetic composition, the pad and composition being held within the container. The cosmetic composition is primarily water, especially amounts of water in excess of 90%. Most preferred as a substrate for the pad is a non-woven polyester. A cucumber slice design is the most preferred print on the pad. A method is also provided which reduces puffiness, soothes the eye and lessens dark circles around the eye. This method involves applying the aforementioned cosmetic composition via the pad onto the eye and its surrounding area.

Abstract: A unitarily constructed toothbrush is provided including a head with bristles unitarily molded therewith, a handle and a neck, all being formed of an identical plastic material. Dispersed throughout the plastic material is at least one anti-microbial active compound such as a halogenated hydrocarbon, a quaternary ammonium salt or combinations thereof. Preferably the plastic material is a low density polyethylene. Abstract: The invention relates to an adaptor which enables two premade tubes such as toothpaste tubes of varying sizes to be fitted together, one inside the other to obtain a dual tube dispenser providing for separate storage of two dissimilar substances and its co-extrusion from the dispenser as and when desired upon application of external pressure on the latter. The adaptor includes a threaded component in the form of a cap with internal threads to match the threads of the neck portion of conventional toothpaste tubes. A central passage provided in the adaptor communicates with the inside of the tube to which it is screw-fitted.
