    Abstract: A baler for manufacturing bales of harvested crop material comprises a bale chamber comprising a first part where a plunger can make a reciprocating movement, and a second part which cannot be reached by the reciprocating plunger. The second part has a varying cross section along the length direction of the bale chamber, whereby the rate of change of the cross sections is different at multiple positions along the length direction of the second part of the bale chamber.
