Abstract: Electronic chain of custody systems and methods for use with drug testing protocols are provided. According to some embodiments of the present invention, an electronic chain of custody (“COC”) system provides a digitally stored chain of custody record. The digitally stored chain of custody record can be updated in various fashions including direct computer input of use chain of custody form. For example, the chain of custody form can be used in concert with a data gathering digital pen that can store and pass along pen movements (as data) related to the chain of custody form. Advantageously, the present invention's digital chain of custody system and process enables integration of data from multiple system participants to a digital chain of custody record that obviates the necessity of passing along a conventional paper record. Abstract: Systems and methods for reporting information to financial institutions and insurance carriers are disclosed. A reporting system can be a loss payee notification system comprising a communication device, a computer processor, a status update unit, and a bill management unit. The communication device can enable the reporting system to communicate with financial institutions and insurance carriers. The computer processor can provide various functions, including reconciling data received from the financial institutions and insurance carriers with data stored in a database. The status update unit can update the financial institutions of changed insurance information related to properties financed by the financial institutions and can also update the insurance carriers of changed loan information related to properties insured by the insurance carriers. The bill management unit can manage escrow bills to escrow accounts kept by the financial institutions.

Abstract: Mortgage fraud detection systems and methods are provided. A fraud detection system can generally comprise a database operator, a database manager, one or more users, and a database. Database components can be implemented as hardware, software, or a combination of both. A fraud detection method can generally comprise providing a database for maintaining a plurality of records. Data records can be continually received by a database in batchwise or single submission protocols. Records can be compared to determine whether they contain common data in one or more predetermined fields. If records contain common data in one or more predetermined fields, records can be examined for inconsistencies in one or more other data fields. Discovered inconsistencies and magnitudes of inconsistencies can be warning signs of fraud. Results of comparisons can be reported to system users to enable such users to investigate additional circumstances. Other embodiments and features are also claimed and described in the application.

The image is assigned a document type, a document identifier and a data base record and segmented based on its document type into at least one image segment containing textual data. Each image segment or clip is packetized for transmission via a computer network to a remote location. The data packet includes the image segment, identifying and tracking information, an unpopulated data field within the database record associated with the type of textual information in the image segment and a data entry prompt to be used for entering text into said data field. At a remote location the image clip and prompt are displayed to an operator who then keys in the textual information using the displayed prompt to populate the data field. The data packet having a populated data field and a database record identifier is then sent back to the processing center.

Abstract: Automated generation and output of customized reports based on the insurance claim records of insured persons. Insurance carriers can automatically obtain customized reports for use in monitoring insured persons' insurance claim records for previously-unavailable claim information. Each insured person can be insured on a recently-executed insurance policy of an insurance carrier. An insurance carrier's customized report can include, for each insured person, claim information related to the insured person that was unavailable to the insurance carrier before execution of the insurance policy. The customized report can also include claim information related to the insured person that was unavailable before a specified period of time before execution of the insurance policy. The insurance carriers can designate the reports' format and content.

Insurance carriers can automatically obtain, at appropriate times, customized reports for use in monitoring and assessing insured persons. Incident data regarding the insured persons' motor vehicle records is received and translated, according to the insurance carriers' pre-set designations, into a customized report. For example, the insurance carriers can designate the reports' format, content, generation times, and output times. Such designations can depend upon other insurance-carrier-specific designations. For example, the designations can depend upon whether certain incident data is deemed “selective” or “non-selective.” For example, selective information can be more urgent to the insurance carrier than non-selective information.

Abstract: Automated generation of reports based on insurance coverage of youthful drivers. Insurance carriers can automatically obtain, at appropriate times, customized reports for use in monitoring insurance coverage of youthful drivers. The youthful drivers can be newly-licensed persons who reside with insured persons. The reports can indicate whether the youthful drivers are insured by a particular insurance carrier and/or whether they are uninsured persons. The insurance carriers can designate the reports' format, content, generation times, and output times. In designating the output times, the insurance carriers can designate whether and/or when to delay output of certain generated reports. In addition, the insurance carriers can designate whether and/or when to update and/or verify the contents of each generated report prior to outputting the report.
