Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling a locking device over a short-range wireless radio frequency. The system comprises an intelligent user terminal and a locking device, and authorizes access based at least upon information received at a user interface of the locking device and authorization data transmitted to the locking device by the intelligent user terminal. The methods comprise receiving an access request at a locking device, configuring the locking device to establish a connection to the intelligent user terminal, establishing the connection, and authorizing the intelligent user terminal based on authorization data.
