In one embodiment, said alloy consists essentially of 55.0-78.0 wt % Au, 8.0-24.0 wt % Ag, 8.0-24.0 wt % Cu and 0.0-3.0 wt % deoxidizer, and said interference thin film is grown on a surface of said alloy and has a thickness of less than 200 nm; wherein said interference thin film exhibits a patination color.

Abstract: This invention provides an amorphous alloy. In one embodiment, the amorphous alloy consists essentially of: i) 52.55-80.12 at. % of Au; ii) 11.74-15.55 at. % of Ge; iii) 8.13-10.77 at. % of Si; iv) 5-21.13 at. % being at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ag, Bi, Pd and Pt.

Abstract: This invention provides a computer implemented method to identify a specific gemstone with a known reference point. In one embodiment, said computer implemented method, comprises the steps of: (a) detecting said known reference point from a source image of said specific gemstone; (b) Retrieving one or more reference images of possible gemstones from a gemstone database based on said known reference point; (c) extracting edge features from said source image and said one or more reference images; (d) computing a similarity value by matching said edge features from each of said one or more reference images against said source image; and (e) identifying said specific gemstone from said one or more reference images based on said similarity value.

Abstract: This invention relates to a platinum electrodeposition bath which is capable of forming platinum deposits having an attractive shiny granular surface like a velvet, which is particularly useful in jewelry manufacturing. The velvet effect can be illustrated by comparing the surface roughness with a bright smooth platinum deposit.
