  • Patent number: 10201448
Abstract: A palmar thumb and thumb saddle joint splint comprises a first splint part for receiving the thumb and means for fastening the first splint part to the hand. The first splint part formed as a shell part that is open at the top and is intrinsically stiff but deformable, in which shell part the thumb is laid; the first splint plant being connected firmly to a side-of-the-hand part that is intrinsically stiff but deformable and, when the splint is put in place, embraces the side of the splinted hand; and the fastening means comprising first and second fixing strips which are intrinsically stiff but deformable, wherein the first fixing strip runs from the side-of-the-hand part over the back of the hand to the first splint part, and the second fixing strip, starting from the side of the hand part, is led through between thumb and index finger to the first splint part.

  • Patent number: 9039643
Abstract: The invention relates to a fixing element (33) extending as a flat, particularly lamellar element along a preferred direction (34) and comprising a corrugated sheet metal core (18) as a central component, said core providing the fixing element (33) with the characteristic of being integrally rigid and permanently deformable by hand, and said core being covered by a cover (36, 37). For such a fixing element, a large range of use is achieved in that the corrugations of the corrugated core sheet (18) are oriented substantially parallel to the preferred direction (34), and that means (38, 39) for releasably attaching the fixing element (33) are disposed on the fixing element (33).

  • Publication number: 20140364787
Abstract: A device (22) for analgesic immobilization in the event of thorax or rib fractures as well as a method for application of such a device are disclosed. The immobilization device (22) includes a flat splint element (24) which covers a large area of the region of the break (19), and is provided with an adhesive layer (26) which is located on the side thereof facing the body and is used to adhere the immobilization device (22) to the body. In a preferred method of application, two separate areas of adhesive are applied to the patient's skin over the fracture at two different points in the breathing cycle. This allows the device to remain in place more securely under the dynamic condition of the ribcage that results from constant inhalation and exhalation.

  • Patent number: 7878997
Abstract: The invention relates to a mallet finger splint for splinting the distal and middle phalanx of a mallet finger in a position in which the first finger joint is held in an extended position between the distal phalanx and the middle phalanx. The aim of the invention is to simplify production and use of such a finger splint. For this purpose, the mallet finger splint has a shape of a spoon with a handle and a bowl. The mallet finger splint is configured in such a manner than the handle comes to rest below the middle phalanx without impairing the mobility of the middle finger joint while the distal phalanx comes to rent in the bowl.

  • Patent number: 6039706
Abstract: With a medical splint (1) for securing and immobilizing movable body parts, in particular extremities of a human or an animal, along a splint axis (6), where said splint (1) comprises a sheet metal (2) that can be shaped plastically by hand and is covered on both sides with a cover layer (3, 4), a high shapability and stiffness at the same time are achieved by the fact that the sheet metal (2) is designed with corrugations in at least some areas, where the peaks and valleys of the corrugations (42) run essentially across the splint axis (6).
