Abstract: A system allowing user/system interaction sessions on voice-enabled computing devices (VECDs) to be shifted from a voice-based interface to a non-voice-based (such as a text/web-based) interface. Accordingly, easy and convenient data input, receipt and recognition is provided in a manner that is not likely to frustrate users, that accommodates a broad range of data needs, and/or that avoids confidentiality issues associated with the use of voice input and data security issues associated with the storage of medical/health or other sensitive data. The system recognizes a platform-shifting command via a voice-based interface, gathers any required information (such as a telephone number or e-mail address) for continuing the communications session on another platform, and then sends a text/email/other message including a URL/hyperlink usable to initiate a communications session on a different communications platform and continue a voice-based interaction session on a non-voice-based communications platform.

Abstract: A wheelchair having a tiltable occupant-support assembly, a powered drive system for adjusting the degree of tilt, and a control system for varying the degree of tilt in a programmatic automated fashion. The wheelchair is programmed or programmable to vary the degree of tilt, and therefore the wheelchair's occupant, automatedly. The wheelchair may provide pre-set ranges of seating angles and durations of time at each angle of tilt. The wheelchair thereby allows for reliable off-loading of the occupant's weight from pressure points, to avoid pressure ulcers, and does so programmatically so as to reduce the burden on healthcare staff and professionals while also ensuring adherence with prescribed tilting schedules.

Abstract: A system and method for controlling a computerized device's display to provide a user interface that renders compact and informative graphical user interface images, particularly in a medical care management device in which a large amount of information is required by the user, and a size of the display device is relatively small. The system and method can deliver structured guidance to medical personnel to promote rendering of medical care in compliance with predetermined care protocols, and automatedly logs, and/or guides the user to log, events and occurrences during the medical emergency for accurate logging of same. Multiple independent cyclical numerical task timers, graphical progress indicators, and cycle counters may be displayed concurrently within a single field of view/window within a display device's display area. Expiration of a cycle time may be reflected by a color change, and initiate text or other prompting according to a predefined care protocol.
