Patent number: 6810921Abstract: A method of filling containers, especially bags, with bulk material by a feeding funnel and a filler pipe. The filler pipe adjoins the lower end of the feeding funnel. An axially displaceable and rotatable conveying unit is arranged co-axially within the filler pipe. An axially displaceable and rotatable closing element is firmly connected to the lower end of the conveying unit. The bulk material, while being conveyed by the conveying unit in the filler pipe, is simultaneously mechanically agitated in the filling funnel, or simultaneously mechanically conveyed in the filling funnel towards the filler pipe.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2002Date of Patent: November 2, 2004Assignee: BMH Chronos Richardson, GmbHInventor: Werner Schlösser

Patent number: 6786367Abstract: The present invention provides a filling sleeve which allows containers with a rectangular or square cross-section, especially bags with deep side folds, to be filled advantageously in that they are given a stable shape. The objective is achieved by means of a filling sleeve which is characterized in that, in the exit cross-section, a central region is provided with inserts and four separate exit apertures are kept open in the corners of the square or rectangular cross-section. In this way, the filling material flowing through the substantially completely open and normally undivided entrance cross-section of the filling sleeve is divided into four individual streams which are associated with the corners of the exit cross-section. Thus, while being filled, the bags are initially stabilized from the corners, as a result of which a certain tension remains in the walls between the corners, so that the walls cannot bulge out when the level of the filling material rises.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2003Date of Patent: September 7, 2004Assignee: BHM Chronos Richardson, GmbHInventor: Werner Schlösser

Patent number: 6237815Abstract: A dispensing device for pourable, especially powdery material, has a charging chute, a vertical filling pipe adjoining the lower end of the charging chute, and a closing cone arranged at the lower end of the filling pipe. The closing cone is displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the filling pipe by a shaft. The closing cone, in its open position, provides an annular gap at the lower end of the filling pipe. In its closed position, the closing cone rests against an annular face or annular edge at the lower end of the filling pipe. The closing cone, on an upwardly pointing conical face, includes blades with a desired slope. The closing cone is rotatingly drivable to convey material through the annular gap by the blades.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 1999Date of Patent: May 29, 2001Assignee: Chronos Richardson GmbHInventor: Werner Schlösser
