  • Patent number: 6857284
Abstract: An improved apparatus and method for flushing an auger-type crushed ice making machine prevents build up of scale and other contaminants. The system feeds a flushing liquid to the top of the extrusion head such that it flows down through the device, thereby cleaning the auger and sleeve. The flushing liquid may be water or a solution having chemicals that help to remove built up scale or other contaminants.
