Patent number: 10481411Abstract: A device for retaining eyewear is disclosed. The device comprises one or more tethers rotatably coupled to a plurality of temple fasteners, the temple fasteners coupled to the temples of eyewear disposed on the ears of a user. More specifically, the device can further comprise a plurality of positioning members configured to couple with and rotate within a temple fastener to allow a tether coupled to the rotating position member to rotate relative to the head and neck of the user. The at least one tether can be disposed in various fixed positions relative to the head and neck of the user as well as relative to the eyewear.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 2017Date of Patent: November 19, 2019Assignee: Chums, Inc.Inventors: Richard Jeremy Hadden, Sterling McMurrin

Patent number: 10421305Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for thermal sublimation imaging and more generally thermal pressing through a continuous or intermittent feed-through thermal pressing system. Cutting assemblies may be configured to cut, connect, advance, and/or align transfer media. The transfer media may have images created using inks, dyes, or the like that are configured to be sublimated into a substrate material within a sublimation assembly. The substrate may be interposed between upper and lower transfer media to allow for dual-side imaging via thermal sublimation. A thermal sublimation chamber may include a pre-confinement zone to reduce ghosting, a preheat zone, a thermal saturation zone to effectuate sublimation and image transfer, and/or a post-sublimation cooling zone to reduce ghosting. A post-sublimation collection system may separate transfer media from substrate(s).Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 2015Date of Patent: September 24, 2019Assignees: Chums, Inc., Production Assembly CorporationInventors: Sterling McMurrin, Lorin Zitting

Patent number: 9949558Abstract: An accessory fastening device can include a first clamping member having a first clamping surface, a second clamping member having a second clamping surface that faces the first clamping surface, and a locking arm that is rotatable between an unlocked state and a locked state. Rotation of the locking arm to transition the locking arm from the unlocked state to the locked state causes the second clamping surface of the second clamping member to advance toward the first clamping surface of the first clamping member.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2014Date of Patent: April 24, 2018Assignee: Chums, Inc.Inventor: Scott McMurrin Reed

Patent number: 9392864Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for a fastening device for selectively securing an accessory, such as gloves. The fastening device may include an upper clamping member, a lower clamping member, and a biasing member manufactured as a single integral component. The upper clamping member may pivot with respect to the lower clamping member about a pin passing through pivot apertures formed in the clamping members. The biasing member may maintain the accessory clamping formed by the clamping members in a closed, clamped position. The accessory clamp may be configured to selectively secure any of a wide variety of accessories. In various embodiments, the fastening device may include an integral belt clip for selectively securing the fastening device, and a clamped accessory, to a belt or other clippable item, such pants or a jacket.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2013Date of Patent: July 19, 2016Assignee: Chums, Inc.Inventor: Scott McMurrin Reed

Patent number: 6644808Abstract: An end fastener for attaching an end of an eyeglass retainer to the end of an eyeglass temple piece includes an elastomeric fastener body secured to the retainer cord or rope and having an internal bore extending into the body from an insertion opening. The diameter of the bore varies from a largest diameter near the insertion opening to a smallest diameter at the end of the bore away from the opening. A bulbous portion may be provided adjacent the opening and have the largest bore diameter therein. Because of the variety of bore diameters, the bore will receive and hold a wide variety of temple piece end sizes.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2002Date of Patent: November 11, 2003Assignee: Chums, Inc.Inventor: Frederick E.
