A signal detection technique of the present invention has a low complexity and a throughput similar to that of a Maximum Likelihood (ML) scheme in a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) wireless communication system using a Spatial Multiplexing (SM) scheme.

    Abstract: A method for selecting beams, a switched beam operation method during an initial synchronization process, and an initial synchronization method using it are provided for selecting beams to minimize the probability of occurrence of interferences between cells by considering a distance between beams within neighboring sectors during an initial synchronization process using switched beams, in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) cellular system employing a smart antenna. The inventive method comprises the steps of dividing each cell into sectors, and counting the number of fixed beams per cell, and selecting a switched beam for minimizing probability of interference, from fixed beams presenting in a corresponding sector, based on distances between a selected beam and beams of all of adjacent cells and the number of cases to be selected in a subsequent time slot, according to the counted number of the fixed beams existing in each sector.

The zeroth-order resonant antenna includes a feeding patch, a transmission line, and a pair of ground patches. The transmission line includes a unit cell disposed on the top surface of the substrate and is configured to transmit a signal delivered from the feeding patch. The pair of ground patches is longitudinally disposed on the top surface of the substrate in the same direction as a longitudinal direction of the transmission line around the transmission line. The unit cell includes an upper patch and an inductor unit. The upper patch is disposed on the top surface of the substrate and is configured to receive a signal.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for detecting program plagiarism through memory access log analysis is provided. A data extractor extracts an access log of an original program and an access log of a target program to be compared with the original program from a memory accessed by the programs. A common string detector enumerates values, which are obtained from the access logs extracted from the original program and the target program, into strings and detects a common string that commonly exists in the strings. A discontinuity calculator calculates a discontinuity value that indicates a distance between the strings by using an array of the detected common strings. A plagiarism determining unit determines that the target program is plagiarized if the calculated discontinuity value is less than a predetermined reference value.

    Abstract: A micro-resonator sensor uses an evanescent wave of a total reflection mirror. The sensor includes an input waveguide for guiding inspection light incidented on one end section to the other section. A total reflection mirror is disposed at the other section of the input waveguide such that an incident angle made with the input waveguide is larger than a total reflection threshold angle at which the inspection light is totally reflected, and includes a receptor provided on the other side from the side on which the inspection light is incidented and combined with a measurement-subject material. An output waveguide is disposed at a certain output angle relative to the total reflection mirror for outputting a reflection light whose intensity changes according to the measurement-subject material due to an interaction between the evanescent wave generated by the inspection light incidented to the total reflection mirror and the measurement-subject material.

    Abstract: Novel brazzein variants having higher sweetness and the use thereof are provided. The brazzein variants or multi-variants have higher sweetness than a wild-type brazzein protein. Also, a method of preparing the brazzein variants and a food composition for enhancing a sugar content including the same are provided. The brazzein variants or multi-variants have higher sweetness at least twice that of a conventional brazzein protein, and show equivalent properties such as thermal and pH stabilities and high water solubility compared to the conventional brazzein protein. Therefore, a smaller amount of brazzein variants can be used together with a greater amount of other sweeteners such as sucrose, and can be replaced with the other sweeteners. So, the brazzein variants can be widely used as an additive in manufacture of food products.

A shifting vector estimator estimates color shifting vectors (CSVs) indicating shift directions and distances of color channels of the original image according to the respective ROIs. A channel matching unit obtains a plurality of matched images corresponding to the respective ROIs included in the label map by shifting the color channels according to the respective CSVs, and generates a multi-focus image by combining the matched images.

The compounds as disclosed herein exhibit considerably effective fluorescence specificity of an off-on type, detect a micromole of mercury ions from chemical and biological aqueous systems, and allow 100% desulfurization within 5 minutes, thus being considerably useful in the chemical industry.
