  • Patent number: 5369600
Abstract: An apparatus and method in which the lateral surface of a sealed container (11) containing a beverage liquid (12) is pressed (21, 22) for deformation to measure the internal pressure (P) of the container, and displacement caused by the pressure and the load (F, 31) applied by the pressure is detected (35) so that the gas density of the beverage liquid may be evaluated from these values. An ultrasonic pressure wave is applied (111) to the sealed container to measure the sugar content of the beverage from the propagation velocity of the pressure wave received by an ultrasonic receiver (112), container surface temperature and the ambient temperature resulting from sensors (121, 122) and a calculation unit (50). For simultaneously measuring the gas density and the sugar content a gas density measuring unit (220, 230, 240) and a sugar content measuring unit (290) are provided.

  • Patent number: 5341620
Abstract: The present invention provides a can feeding apparatus for a can seamer, in which can bodies are fed to a seaming turret are slid on a plate rail and alongside opposed guides by fingers of a drive chain. The seaming turret or a turret opposed to the seaming turret, or both turrets, are provided with claws at their outer circumferential portions. The claws project radially outwardly of pitch circles of the turrets and these projecting portions have profiles of cycloids so that the turrets will not pierce the can bodies. A plate-shaped magnet and/or a brush are disposed on the guides to steady the can bodies as they are transferred to a can lifter of the seaming turret. Furthermore, the angular position of a conveyor sprocket of the can feed conveyor can be adjusted easily in a short period of time by a phase adjusting device. Still further, in a can lid feeder disposed in front of the can seamer, a can body centering turret is also provided with projecting portions having profiles of cycloids.

  • Patent number: 5320469
Abstract: In a can seamer, after a control mode of a drive motor has been switched to a type-changing mode, if an action button is depressed, in response to signals issued from a rotational position sensor, the drive motor moves can seaming mechanisms one pitch by one pitch via a center shaft and stops at predetermined positions. At the stopped position, an actuator is operated to depress the top end of a seaming roll shaft. By this operation, a gap clearance is formed between a rotary frame and a seaming lever. Then seaming rolls are dismounted and replaced. The seaming lever connected with a seaming chuck via a bracket is removed, and thereby a type-changing work can be carried out. In addition, in the type-changing work of the can seamer, the vertical positional adjustment in a fitting between a seaming lever and seaming rolls is easily carried out. Furthermore, the knock-out pad can be replaced in a one-touch operation.

  • Patent number: 5299899
Abstract: The known can seamer is improved so that replacement and adjustment of seaming rolls, a seaming chuck and a knock-out pad may be facilitated at the time of type-change work or the like in a can seamer. In the improved can seamer, after a control mode of a drive motor has been switched to a type-changing mode, if an action button is depressed, in response to signals issued from a rotational position sensor, the drive motor moves can seaming mechanisms one pitch by one pitch via a center shaft and makes them stop at predetermined positions. At the stopped position, an actuator is operated to depress the top end of a seaming roll shaft. By this operation, a gap clearance is formed between a rotary frame and a seaming lever, then seaming rolls and are mounted, also the seaming lever connected with a seaming chuck via a bracket is removed, and thereby a type-changing work can be carried out.

  • Patent number: 5265707
Abstract: A friction type one-way clutch includes friction elements held by a retainer between an input side member and an output side member. The friction elements are released from frictional engagement with the input side and output side members to interrupt power transmission from the input side member to the output side member by rotating the retainer. For rotating the retainer, a rotor is formed on the retainer, and a stator having coils for generating a rotational magnetic field is disposed around the rotor. An electric current is fed to the coils of the stator to generate a rotational magnetic field, and the rotation of the rotor by this rotational magnetic field rotates the retainer.

  • Patent number: 5263897
Abstract: A fluid suction nozzle and a fluid-treating apparatus are used in the cleaning of air inside a local space. The suction nozzle has a suction passage and plural annular discharge passages surrounding the suction passage. The nozzle is connected with an air cleaner, etc. The air inside a local space is to be drawn in through the suction passage. At the same time, a larger amount of air is to be discharged from the discharge passages. The velocity at which fluid will flow from the outer discharge passage is smaller than that at which fluid from the same source will flow from the inner discharge passage.

  • Patent number: 4774505
Abstract: In a conveyor for continuously conveying linens or like materials one by one as gripped at a plurality of points by chucks moving along a rail, a first sensor for detecting passage of the chuck is disposed at a predetermined position along the rail, and two or more second sensors for detecting existence of a linen are disposed at two or more predetermined positions. Means is provided for expanding a distance between adjacent chucks being moved continuously in the proximity of the first sensor. In response to detection signals issued from the sensors, the condition of the chucks gripping the linens can be recognized whether a given chuck is gripping a front corner, a rear corner or a middle point on an upper edge of a linen, it is gripping only one point of a linen, or it is gripping nothing (that is, idle).
