Abstract: A method of reducing trash recirculation into the fiber formation stream of an open-end spinning machine yarn formation station in an open-end spinning machine of the type having a movable trash belt which collects trash removed from the yarn during formation. The method comprises the steps of moving the trash belt at a first predetermined rate of movement for a predetermined period of time, moving the trash belt at a second predetermined rate of movement less than the first rate of movement for a predetermined period of time, cleaning the trash belt and repeating the steps.

The method includes the steps of moving the trash belt at a predetermined rate of movement for a predetermined period of time, stopping the trash belt for a predetermined period of time during which trash collects on the belt, cleaning the trash from the belt during movement of the belt, and repeating the steps.
